Do you read newsletters from your provider?

edited March 2013 in General

Personally I'm not a big fan of them, and often just mark as read unless something eye-catching is in the title. What about you guys?

I know some providers like to send out newsletters and mass emails like it's going out of style, while others rarely send them out or do so to announce some sort of bad news.

Do you guys/gals actually read your provider's newsletters? I only ask because we've got some cool things to announce and plan on sending out a mass mail soon. =]

I only read the annual BuyVM Swimsuit Issue.

  • @Jack said: I find them quite interesting, so tend to read them.

Wow, surprised to see 100% of the original responses to be 'Yes' across the board.

If y'all like reading newsletters so much, go get yourself a URPad VPS to see what we've got to say later. =]

  • Why not

I thought they just sent images from /r/clopclop (NSWF)

  • Ehh... I usually don't.

Because I have tons of other e-mails to read. Unfortunately I can't really invest too much time into reading a newsletter.

I like them, sometimes they become to excessive and it gets really annoying (I'm not sure if BurstNET still does this but they are a prime example).

  • I think only send when you have important one to say. Like you will have new service or location coming up.

Yeah but only when the titel contains "porn" "bill" "prices" ;D

    I do.

Personally I have wanted to do one for Fliphost, but I'm not the best writer and I could never think of content to fill it with.

I skim through all of my emails. If I find something interesting in the newsletter I'll read through it.

I know how you feel lol

But you have some new good things going on lately right? Why not compile those and send

Ha, we didn't even properly announce our new Florida location or new UK stock other than a couple of tweet and Facebook post or two. =]

@jcaleb I could I guess. Have a couple more things to launch then I'll consider it. Thanks

  • You guys read them for the coupon codes and specials, right?

  • I read them dependant on who sent them (If I spend thousands of dollars a month with them, then its likely in my interest to read them). I read other newsletters when I am not busy.

  • FreekFreek Member

I always read those loveletters providers send me ;)
No, really I do. Just make sure not to send them every week or so. Once per 2/3 months is sufficient.

Yes I do, but often it's straight to the bin after first read.

  • NickkNickk Member

Yes and I quite enjoy reading them too.

  • What newsletters? I don't get any :'(

  • I send one every month, but I quit when we got busy. I need to again to give out some free months of service to facebook and twitter followers.

@MannDude I would but most of Urpad's emails go to my junk box for some reason ....

  • @Brightbull said: What newsletters? I don't get any :'(

Well, we never actually send them. At least not since I've been on board. Got some awesome announcements coming tomorrow. =]

Who is your email provider? All emails sent to me via URPad go to my inbox properly with Google.

I don't recall URPad ever sent me any newsletter since I joined up on December...

  • Once in a while, depends on the provider.

If I've had a good experience with a provider, I'm more likely to engage with their newsletters/surveys they send out.

I do appreciate it if they're relatively low-frequency though - One a month, max.

  • If you send them on a schedule, no. If you send them only when there's something important, yes.

I've had a good response from newsletters in the past and this thread just confirms it.
