In Market for new IRC client box
Used HostHatch for the past 6 months. Really enjoyed them and had nearly perfect uptime.
Recently I had my VM shutdown on me a few times even after a fresh install. Raised a ticket but haven't heard back on it in 4 days.
I figured I'd take the opportunity to try a new provider. Let me be clear: I'm not upset with HostHatch or anything, I quite liked their product. But being a LowEndEnthusiast, I want to try out new things
Not looking for much, just enough to keep a screen + irssi session connected
My previous plan was the HostHatch 256mb - $8/quarter option. It came with a minimal install OS and I was able to do exactly what I wanted... idle on IRC plus some wgets here and there and a handful of cron jobs for admin stuff.
I'd prefer an option in Australia but I'd consider something in SEA as long as the uptime and network is good.
Paypal payment is a must.

Lowendspirit.com an option? The Sydney location with RansomIT is fantastic.
I just googled HostHatch (not that you're upset with them) and I'm not sure I'd send them any money!
See the HostHatch Offices here
LOL - no, I don't I should either after that picture.
You have personal experience with them?
Sheeeit for that price a 128mb would be great.
Same plan, same price at Ramnode in SEA:

SecureDragon is another one to look at - they're in Portland (and LA), which might be useful to Australia:

Yep! Hosting a small TS server, it's snappy and great.
Just be sure to read the TOS or ticket @Oliver not sure if IRC clients are allowed.
IRC client is fine on LES (or any service for that matter).
Can someone explain the LES private NAT IPv4 only situation?
Just want to understand
That means you'll get one internal IP (192.168.x.x) and you'll have to let your IRC client listen on a different port than the default one. The ports you can use will be listed in the service activation email.
Check out our latest offer in LA or VA. Starts at $12/year with dedicated IPv4.
We allow IRC. Free inbound bandwidth, DDoS mitigation, /64 IPv6 subnet.
Makes perfect sense - Thank you
Got anything in Sydney - I'm really trying to keep a local instance here so I don't have to deal with latency weirdness.
