Contact them and ask what their policy is then.

  • Good price. And they have Japan location. Is it also starting $1/month?

    From their TOS:

    You’re Account.

If it wasnt for @nekki I wouldn't have misread that.

    It's OVH, bandwidth is unmetered.

  • So is this like Scaleway or Aruba? I wonder because they provide Arch Linux (yay) as an install option and I haven't seen that for OpenVZ or KVM

    It's obviously a KVM one.

Looks like VirtKick is a little keen on Arch Linux :) Take a look, they have their own PacmanVPS https://www.virtkick.com/customers.html (the last one).

Ha, yes. Thats nice to see.

I'm curious if Cloudhostr provide TUN. Hmm I shouldn't really get another small VPS.

    I asked support

They said they donot limit band with...and each vps could burst 1 GIG E ....but normaly you could 100-150 Mbps...

    what is the allocated bandwith?
Hi there, All of our servers are connected by a 1GBit port. Although you should expect average speeds of around 1Gbit, the minimum you should experience is approximately 150-250Mbs. Hope that answers your question, if not feel free to get back in touch. Regards, Connor

Meaning i can hit 2 - 4 tb per month no questions asked

Also how to mount custom isos?
We don't set a limit on the amount of bandwidth you can use. Although we don't allow you to setup custom iso's directly, if you have an operating system in mind (or a custom iso) feel free to send us a copy. Once we have verified the iso as being clean from malware etc, we can release it globally on the panel.

Actually i was looking to spin up android instance... If you allow that ....then it could be wonderful :-) Btw where is the T.O.S page? Cpu limits?
You can find a complete copy of our terms and conditions here. https://cloudhostr.co.uk/terms.pdf Although I should make a note that we don't set machine limits (disk, cpu, memory usage etc.) The only real restriction is that we monitor all network traffic for suspicious activity such as spam mail, if we find traffic we deem malicious, we may decide to block a particular port or completely cut your machines network connection. This would only be imposed under extreme circumstances.

    Ye

  • Soo... After spending some time on tickets I managed to get one dedicated server in UK for public beta.

The overall performance is good. Nothing special, as it is $2 VM. However, there is one thing that puzzles me. Neighbors.. I'm sure that I was first on that server, as it was provisoned after midnight and so far performance is good, but what will happen when node will fill?

... or maybe there was one suprising thing? Five seconds after hitting "create machine" I was able to use VNC. Five seconds! It's definetly faster than DO or Vultr. At the beginning I thought it's pre-created, but support told me that it's beign builed from scratch. I'm still not sure what to think about it ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

I'm planing to get more of them, as long the IPs are city-registered, so I'll probably post a full review later.

  • can you add a balance? I don't like using a host where I have to pay every month, I like to have a bankroll :-P (if $3 is a bankroll)

  • MrPsychoMrPsycho Member
    edited August 2016

Well... For now their billing system is kinda broken. You can surely add some money to your balance, but minimal charge of $5 also applies to account balance. This means you have to buy 512MB plan for 5 months, 1GB plan for 3 months or 2GB plan for 2 months in advice. I spoke to them about this. (They probably didn't even realise that until now). They agreed with me that I should be able to charge my account with $5, spend $2 on 1GB plan an have the other $3 in my account. We will see how they will work it out. I'm not sure are they even able to change that, as it is VirtKick.
