Anyone's got hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud ?

It is from the Chinese group Alibaba who also run their e-commerce AliExpress... just came across their cloud offering on footsteps of AWS.

I started the 30 days VPS free trial last week with a 4Gb instance in region North China 2 (Beijing). I was provided 2 cores of a fast Xeon E5-2680v3. Windows 2012r2 english edition is available, with 40 Gb C drive and 20 Gb data disk. speedtest.net does measure 100 MB download speed inside China and 2 Mbps upload. The RDP experience from Europa sometimes is smooth and OK, sometimes is very slow and almost unusable. It is still far better than other Beijing VPS providers I tried in the past. The IP is also geolocated in mainland China. The control panel does not work with Internet explorer. It seems to work at first, but then it suddently switches from English to Chinese and it is not possible to switch back because the language button disappears - no issues with Chrome.

As side note, I am open to suggestions about Chinese websites with interesting contents that may be browsed successfully either in English language or with with my very limited vocabulary of the few most used ideograms. Legal services only please, I have registered the account on Alyun for business purposes, but the surprisingly good browser speed on mainland China websites has tickled my curiosity.

3 Months trial? Says here its 30 days.
Anyway, I signed up today and used the vm to convert videos using ffmpeg
    I get at least 100fps (450p, 800mb mp4s to hls). pretty decent.

I'm not very well sure of that, it was late and I was tired when I was reading.
