hi all..

i got a little problem

i have 2 wordpress sites installed on the same box with dedicated ip to both.

both the sites have individual ssl

webserver is nginx(reverse)+apache

both the sites are installed over "https://www" protocol

now the thing is such

on one of the site (say) domain1.com, i enabled multisite as described over https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

and things are working fine...

then i enable multisite on the 2nd domain (say) domain2.com

then when try to access domain2.com, the url redirects to https://www.domain2.com/wp-signup.php?new=domain2.com

and says Registration has been disabled.

yes i have the registrations disabled, but should it not show the original domain2.com?

things work fine when i access https://www.domain2.com

can any one help me, dead tired of helping myself...

thanks

Before you go into troubleshooting WP multisite, or before I try to understand your post, may I ask why you need it? If you're only hosting a few dozen WordPress sites on a single box, there's no reason to complicate things with multisite. More so with only two sites. Is there a reason why two separate WP installations won't work for you?

hope you just missed the train...

So it doesn't work when you enter just domain2.com but works fine if you visit www.domain2.com? In that case add the mapping for domain2.com as well. Login to your network admin and go to settings > domains. Then add the site ID, domain2.com and click save. Uncheck primary before saving if you want to make the www.domain2.com the primary one. Requests to non-primary will be redirected to the primary domain.
