Russia VPS from 65 rub/mo (≈€0.89)

hello, I have bought 3 nodes from them.

their website is www.starvps.ru, and datacenter located in moscow, uptime is good, one of my xen pv node used as python in grabbing datas:

04:12:19 up 27 days, 19:39, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.05

but sometimes their provision error will give you wrong plan, like only 1Gb traffic, just open a ticket and it would fix soon (i ordered 3 VPSs and one time its traffic settings go wrong, and they fixed for me).

now i would share 2 cheapest plans here,

OpenVZ:

1v Core, 256M Mem, 3Gb SAS HDD, 10Mb Port (upgradeable) at 65 rub. order here or buy me a beer

XEN PV:

1v Core, 512M Mem, 5Gb SAS HDD, 10Mb Port (upgradeable) at 165 rub. order here or buy me a beer

  • buy me a beer is an affiliates link.

and running bench.sh on my XEN PV node:

    Looks like a summerhost.

IPs of the website and billing are owned by http://bgp.he.net/AS203694 JSC "Informtehtrans" http://informtehtrans.ru/, which is, suddenly, an electronics manufacturing company.

VPSes seem to be at http://bgp.he.net/AS203631 Contel OOO, with Informtehtrans as their 100% uplink.

Yea, however, not like that is unusual in CIS - many have weird company names.

I don't mean just the company name:

    We offer our production services

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) on all types of transport and warehousing accounting.

The instruments of automation and remote control of any complexity.
Electronic equipment of any complexity on a high technical level with the use of modern element base.

Electronic sensors, liquid level sensors (including aggressive).

    Electronic temperature relay sensor.

Cable products for the connection of devices (signal, high-frequency, etc.).

  • I don't know why is so cheap...

Network looks surprisingly good for the price. A shame that they're unknown.

which payment options did they offer?

It looks like they don't even have a ToS, not to speaking of information on their legal status or "about us" page at least. Their WHMCS isn't nulled though…

    hmmm, they need passport data...

This looks total scam of identity honestly.
just searched spamhaus and guess what :
    https://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/listings/Informtehtrans

This network is rogue and operated for the exclusive purpose of providing services to spammers, phishers botnet operators. No legit content hosted in this network:

cough and they seems to need passport/ID :P

It's Contel too and the same phone number. Hmm

    RIP singhigh.

  • @Caster

I wouldn't put a single grain of trust in Spamhaus. They unfairly blacklist certain IP ranges (cough specifically that ColoCrossing-hosted VPS I used to have with an address in the 23.95.x range which they finally removed) and most major email providers don't even use them anymore.

Same here, although they also have tasty offers (512MB KVM for €1 by way of example), there is something fishy about them.

Interesting that OP's referral ID is #2...
