Decent Europe KVM VPS with 50GB+ storage and 2GB+ memory

I will be using it mainly for ownCloud, OpenVPN and a Telegram bot. So I would need at least 2GB of ram and decent storage capacity. I need it to support Debian 8 or Ubuntu 16.04.

In the past, I've switched too many hosts so, although I would like it to be as cheap as possible, quality is what I'm looking for.

Thanks

And you will switch hosts again and again. Cheap will not be high quality, so I have nothing to offer to you. Good luck.

  • I said I would like it to be cheap but my priority is quality. So I need quality VPS recommendations not cheap. Sorry if it's not clear.

    Hello,

You can take a look at our KVM HDD plan - 1 vCPU core 6GB RAM and 120 GB HDD space for $6/mo - wishosting.com

    Debian 8 template is available.

With all due respect, that's exactly the kind of "deal" I'm trying to avoid. I'm not saying your quality is bad since I didn't try but at this point I would really like something tested and at a more realistic price point.

  • I can offer you our default pool, 2 Cores (E5-2660V2) 2GB RAM, 30GB SSD, 1 IP4 with 250Mbps in your choice of https://dediserve.com/locations ...

Our model is a virtual datacentre / resource pool, so you can add SSD or NAS storage on demand (in 10GB increments)

I really like the idea behind "tiny dedicated servers". Do you know how is the performance?

Edit: They don't seem to accept new users. Now I like it more :)

You might want to take a look at our KVM plans. Our 2GB plans are starting at 20 euro, but we have coupon at this moment that takes 15% off, which makes 17 euro / month for a quality VPS :-).

If this is exceeding your budget, but you are are looking for quality. Keep in mind, pay peanuts get monkeys :-)

  • As stated in the title minimum 50GB

  • What is the general consensus about OVH Cloud around here? Performance looks OK, how about the support and uptime?

I will happily resell scaleway for a 10% margin

I decided to compromise on KVM and seriously considering to go with RamNode 2048MB SVZS (OpenVZ) plan after all I've read. Any comments before I commit?

EDIT: Nevermind... Their OpenVZ plan don't have Debian 8 or Ubuntu 16.04
    Thanks

As to KVM, take a look at ProviderService/UltraVPS, Prometeus storage pool, netcup, LeaseWeb.

Ubuntu 16.04 on OpenVZ works. We have recently upgraded OpenVZ VPSes running Ubuntu 14.04 and 15.10 to Ubuntu 16.04. Will require a few tweaks like disabling systemd and reverting back to 'upstart'. But after these tweaks Ubuntu 16.04 will run great on OpenVZ :-)

  • Thank very much everybody. I've paid extra and went with a Ramnode KVM VPS. Everything is already setup. Fast service and fast response time so far.
