NEED low price/low specs DDoS Protected VPS
Hello, I would need a low specs and low prices vps..
FOR IRC ZNC.
Specs:
- At least 64 MB ram
- At least 1-2 GB hdd
- 1 ipv4 / 1 ipv6 (or more ipv6)
- DDoS Protected (don't expect ddos attacks, but it is good to be there)
- rDNS to be enabled
Budget: 5-10 $ / year. If someone would be able to make such an offer.. would be great.

I thought 1 IPv4 from OVH is $3. Doubt if you'll have some choices.
I'd suggest to double your budget so you can get the VPS with a decent provider and not someone desperate enough to sell OVH at $7 per year.
As far as i know and from our personal experience OVH does not allow IRC, related services. Check their ToS about this before you order anything for irc...
Minimum installation for some os is 10GB, are you sure that you wish 2GB of HDD?

I am afraid $5-$7 a year isn't sustainable for any decent let/regular provider paypal or stripe or whoever would eat that up in fee's so you need to raise your budget up a little more.
i have updated my post after reading ovh's tos.. again. And they say.. "limitations" not prohibited anyhow.
$3 spent and $2-4 left for the server part for the first year. Then $5-7 for following years only if OP continues to renew the plan. So it can be considered as a yearly fee unless you remain alive after 1 year.
OVH has a minimum yearly cost of $840 excl IPs. With $4/year, 210 VPSes per server has to be deployed. 210 VPSes = $630 on IPs, so $1470 upfront for the first year. With maximum profits, 255 VPSes deployed, $1605 upfront and $1020 income.
Doubt if someone wants to put $1470 there for $0 profit, or $1605 for $180 profit.
@msg7086 - You forgot to even take paypal fees into that so it's even less.
As the rest said, bump your rates or the best you're going to get is a provider that isn't here in a few months anyway.

Sorry OP, your best option is going to be buying an IRC shell from someone and just running your ZNC there. You should be able to get something within your budget without much issue.

Do you really need a dedicated ipv4 for this? You could go the NAT-way maybe..
Your also probably going to struggle to get DDoS protection for that budget. Or at-least anything worth its salt.

For $7 a year you will find very very few providers who will even attempt to mitigate attacks, yet alone create custom filters or edit hardware firewall rules (OVH).
If you don't expect DDoS attacks don't worry too much, most providers will nullroute and in 2016 I don't think any LET host would terminate you for a one off attack.

Is getting DDoS'ed on a ZNC that likely for you? Why not just deal with it if it happens. Get a VPS at a host with an auto-null who will just nullroute you.
If not perhaps just find someone who can ACL UDP. Which should be a good starting point.
Personally, I just use DigitalOcean for my ZNC. But then again I dont frequent many IRC chanels without Vhosts/Cloaks.

And where do you ask for a free znc on undernet? Would you like to use the same ip with other people? Would they let you have your own ip with your own hostname? No i think no, they don't.

There are tons of small little 'companies' that give free ZNC sessions. It isn't that uncommon.
