What skills would you expect a "cloud engineer" to possess?

I've seen a few job ads spec'd with the title, but they're a bit light on details. Mostly they just mention Linux and Virtualization with a bit of scripting experience.

What exactly would you think the role would entail?

I'd expect them to be a hydrological guru with ninja skills

Or maybe just the same as a network engineer/vanilla sysadmin

Storage, compute, network, security, and the ability to sit in lots of meetings explaining basic concepts to people who make way more than you do.

Seems to me like they've left out details if you have to ask. That may be intentional, they may want you to contact them to find out. You can engineer a cloud many different ways. What languages do they use primarily to develop their software? The words "Cloud Engineer" don't really imply an answer to that.
