GitHub - ∞ Private Repositories for a LowEndFlatFee!

GitHub just changed from their previous pricing plans with different tiers for different number of private repositories to just a plan with ∞ private repos!
New pricing plan:
Personal: $7/month
>
Organization: $9/user/month, $25/month for your first five users
Sounds good to me, might move my larger repos there instead of selfhosting on a NAT VPS w/ Gogs!
Hope this post was useful for those who didn't like the previous price plans

Personally I'd prefer a price point below $84/year. If they offered a $49/year plan with limits, I'd be more interested.
I don't have, and probably will never have, a need for unlimited repositories.
I'm still sticking to my private gitlab server
with a team github or similar is a must. personal i can live with own and floppy drives.
Tell us more about your 1.44MB repositories...
I already get unlimited free repositories at GitLab and BitBucket - without a time limit. I'm surprised it took GitHub this long to introduce this.
i think i have some cd with old delphi, vb stuff i once had this
:P
Bro, that is Pascal not Delphi.
yes i know, i started with borland pascal then delphi
Anyone else get poll not found?
Seems to be free with student pack, just got the email....
Same here just got the email, also on the student pack.
I have both Gayhub student pack and Bitbucket unlimited free private projects. Why should I even care... (I mean, good job Gayhub)
@raindog308 Poll not found! (as mentioned by @CFarence) Vanilla is awesome.
UPDATE: Fixed. Thanks mods xoxo
I guess keyboard dictionary does not contain the word by its own . Predictive keyboard sucks (XD), and this is the perfect example.
HAHAHA yeah, predictive sucks. Is GayHub a new porn website? @msg7086
Wut, that's goooooood news!
Since we all know github is one of the world's largest same-sex SNS...
Get the kids hooked on soda today; and tomorrow they be like " What's water? "
Get the kids hooked on Redbull today, they will go "what's sleep" forever
BitBucket has the LET price of $0/year with all features for teams of up to 5 members. Kinda hard to beat.
Gitlab immediately posts about it The future of SaaS hosted Git repository pricing. Saying its the future of pricing git saas pricing.
I love both github and gitlab, with unlimited repo, I might interest to put my private repo on github instead self hosted gitlab.
Google says it is. A hardcore one.
git init --bare my_project.git
Currently many businesses have to archive old projects, either to disk or to other services (i.e Bitbucket). I see there being a large increase in private repo's at Github, but mostly these will be inactive. For example how many individuals have more than say 5 active private projects at any time?
I look forward to never having to move around a repo, either to another Github users account or migrating it to Bitbucket.
Not a good day for Atlassian I imagine.
Just got an idea, can we use this as an unlimited file storage space? I guess there is no restriction on what kind of file you can store in the git right?
I'm not sure how I've never come across CommitStrip before, but thanks for sharing. They're all hilarious!
Would you mind upgrading yourself to the latest hot hot technology. ZIP drives. /s
I still prefer gitlab self hosting to github and it's been working well for me since the past three years. Nothing beats the level of control of self hosted git repos.
