DDOS protected VPS is must for DNS cluster?

Hey,

Soon i want to build a DNS cluster so if one DNS server fail then the other continue the work.

My question is...

Is it a must to own a ddos protected VPS for DNS? This will be use for shared hosting DNS

Thanks!

  • romanian for only $10/mo include 250Gbps immune ddos protections via voxility !

  • Never needed it, just make sure your host has auto nullroute and more than one DNS server.

Have at least 2 DDOS Protected boxes in your Cluster, so if you get hit, at least 2 stay online.

Yeah sure grab a BHS and France from OVH, or grab a BHS from OVH and some VPS from Vioxility.

I only got good experinces with OVH in terms of AntiDDOS.

  • We have our own DNS cluster, all ddos protected. So far we never had any issues with ddos attacks but it's better to be safe than sorry. We decided to switch to using our own DNS after our host had a lot of issues with attacks on their DNS resulting in downtime for us.

Can offer you a small VPS in NYC with 10gbps DDoS protection for a reasonable yearly fee. I would assume around or less than 20$ per year, HMU if interested.

You'll want at least 1 box ddos protected just in case you get hit hard. If the other boxes get nulled at least 1
    box will still be serving.

  • Thanks for the answers :) one will be ddos protected then
