Radiators / Need Advice (Computers, Not cars or houses...)

edited March 2016 in General

Just another post, but this time asking for advice.

You already know that i'm running a 4.5GHz I7-5960X under an extended since last time, water loop (new 480mm lower mounted radiator)

So here is the question: When nVidia release there GP100 TITAN, I plan on buying two for two way SLI. My CPU is Currently running at 33*c (40-45 while gaming). What temperatures would you guys expect if lets say (we don't have temperatures for pascal yet, assuming similar to maxwell and/or hotter): Two TITAN Xs, what temperatures would you guys be expecting?

By the way, picture of new loop, looks a damn site better with the mayhems pastel white nano fluid:

  • By the way I do intend to add the two pascal TITANS to the loop, just to clarify.

Not the only one. I was getting out my idiot manual to fit radiators for the house! Lol

  • @jarland thanks for the fast reply, the radiators in my car are just fine. This is a forum about computing/computers, do people actually post stuff about cars on here?

  • @MSPNick @jarland edited the title name now, hopefully this should help others getting out the idiots manual to cars/house radiators :P

I'd certainly prefer people to post about cars here than some of the stuff people post lol :P

  • @jarland yeah I just read @cociu post. I had a good laugh at that one, can't really say anything since i'm not a saint my self and wish to avoid getting into a bashup like that one.

Why are you buying 2 titans? If it's for gaming, most games have terrible SLI support.

  • edited March 2016

@black It's not normal TITANS, it's nvidias next pascal titans, the successor to the TITAN X.
Reason is, if a game does not like SLI I will disable it and play normally if I can not fix the issue, if a game likes SLI I will happily run along in the 4K display's resolution i'm buying at the time.

I just wish to know what temperatures I would be getting if I hooked the two next TITANS up to the loop. I don't like my CPU going over 50c (It's Tjunction is 66.8c and I like to keep my 5960x cool)

  • We have no idea what the pascal (16nm) version of the "titan" will be, but as they move from 28nm to 16nm it should run a lot cooler, but there's no way anyone (read: anyone not working at nvidia) can tell you what temps 2 of those gpu's will be at in your system.

  • Wow that is a lot of money to play games! What game is worth all that cash? Is it some VR porn version of Leisure Suit Larry?

    That's relative.

    what motherboard do you use?

  • I think a topic about house radiators would be more fitting for LET than computers ;)

My friend just did a three-way (SLI) with GTX 980ti 6GB cards. It's beautiful! 2x titan x would have made more sense but they are hard to find right now.

What do you want to know about car radiators?

Are you planning on water cooling them as well? My GTX Titan X (Not water cooled for my own sanity), with a custom fan curve, stays right around 60-65 Celsius under load.

  • k0nslk0nsl Member

I still use my radiators from Black Ice, ThermoChill (discontinued, afaik) and Swiftech. Have a look at Swiftech's offerings, I hear their radiators are quality.

  • I use EK XE Radiators. Just for easiness I guess. Anyways, No predictions on temperatures? Oh and i've also set aside a couple of grand for a 6950X :D

That a Corsair Spec case :D?

  • ZachCZachC Member

    Yeah, it's a Corsair Obsidian 750D.

Well, central heating and cooling is a standard in Canada. (for a long, long while now) BOO RADIATORS :)

I saw Linus with his external cooling, might as well stick a pipe 10 feet down into my basement floor (yes, into the foundation, who cares?) to cool the computer hehe ;)

  • I cannot wait for NVidia's next TITANS to launch, I'm going to pick up two then watercool them. I'll also grab a rear 120MM thick XE radiator to add to my loop. I'm keeping the front clear for airflow. This should be fun, might even change to hardline tubing.
