Server Monitoring.
Hey guys,
I've seen threads and posts about Nagios, but really, what's the best 'free' monitoring setup you can use? Whereas, you can have a panel to view each and every 'slave' connected to it, to see network statistics, possibly graphs? Individual IP outbounds?
Looking to setup this up on a cluster I've recently got involved in.

PRTG Network Monitor.
Offers a 'freeware' edition, but it is limited to 10 sensors. The lowest paid tier is $400 (one-time).
Well I am thinking about observium. However not sure which one I should be looking at.

Observium was a bitch to setup and get graphing, but it is good once it's rolling...
Munin is as easy as it gets. It runs a lot better than it used to.

Observium, Icinga or Zabbix seem popular.
We use Observium at the moment, really easy to setup via SNMPv3 for servers. Looking at Zabbix at the moment to move to also.
why not use monitor.US
++ for observium
opsview opensource works pretty well for a nagios front end.
Or you could do it the hard way and set up nagios. And also learn about what you're doing during the process.
