Thank you... Do Dedibox Limited 08163 comes with KVM to install my own ISO?

  • @Tajbyte said:

Install using KVM over IP, almost all OS can installed on dedibox :D

  • emtecro said: Here is some bench. Is joodles windows working on online servers? Because they charge 199€/mon for windows

Even better, Online hosts Windows ISOs on a NAS that you can install with the KVM:

    Dell servers: https://documentation.online.net/en/serveur-dedie/systemes-d_exploitation/installation_from_the_kvm_dell_idrac

    HP servers: https://documentation.online.net/en/serveur-dedie/systemes-d_exploitation/installation_from_the_kvm_hp_ilo

for those who wonder how to achieve the smart-data through the perc h200, just use

    smartctl -a /dev/sgX

which will deliver the data depending on the ports used put choose number 0 to 3, mine were on sg0 and sg2

  • You guys that did RAID 0 on the Dedibox 08161 - how did you do it?

I've clicked "Raid Configuration" on the bottom left tab and then selected "Raid 0" > "Save Changes" > "Erase All My Data And Proceed To Raid Level Changes" - YET every time I try and install CentOS it says RAID1...

  • @ZweiTiger

    They ARE SAS - drives.

At least both disks in my box are SAS from Seagate.

    My idrac reports Dell R410 . (08162 E5620)

Still haven't got a public responding IP from their auto-installer.

I think the separate /home partition borked their script. So trying again.

  • @vimalware

Even once the script says it finished and servers says 'online', it will take couple minutes before SSH works. Had to wait around 15minutes...

I went grocery shopping for an hour. :)

Poked around the idrac after I returned.

Does anyone have any experience with the different online.net datacenters?

My previous server is @ DC3; the newly ordered one @ DC2.

  • 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 12.5025 s, 85.9 MB/s

Terrible IO with these seagate drives, DMA does not seem to be supported either for some reason.

Makkesk8 said: DMA does not seem to be supported

If it wasn't, you'd have 10 MB/sec speeds with 100% CPU load. So it's most likely just an indication error of wherever you're checking this.

  • So. Just for everyone as info.

Online.net will release the 2016 series, starting next week. It will also feature new 'low end' boxes below 10€ and such, so keep your money tight and keep an eye out. Stock is highly limited during starting phase.

Yes... not so fast drives. Slow hell :D
