DNS - different results displayed when behind VPN
So. When carrying out an nslookup of google.com when not behind my VPN< I get the following:
1.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa
primary name server = localhost
responsible mail addr = nobody.invalid
serial = 1
refresh = 600 (10 mins)
retry = 1200 (20 mins)
expire = 604800 (7 days)
default TTL = 10800 (3 hours)
Server: UnKnown
Address: 192.168.0.1
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: google.com
Addresses: 2a00:1450:4009:811::200e
216.58.213.110
And when behind my VPN...
Server: resolver2.opendns.com
Address: 208.67.220.220
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: google.com
Addresses: 2a00:1450:400b:c02::66
74.125.24.139
74.125.24.138
74.125.24.100
74.125.24.101
74.125.24.102
74.125.24.113
OpenDNS appears to give me lots more results than are thrown at me by my router. Is this expected, and is there any explanation as to why this could happen?
Thanks.

It depends where your local router is resolving from, but yes, expected.
