What's Your Static Site Generator Workflow?

Just curious what your workflow is for blogging when using a static site generator like Jekyll or Pelican?

I moved from WordPress to Pelican awhile ago and I really appreciate the simplicity and speed that comes with having a static site, but the process of publishing new posts is obviously less graceful than a full CMS. Right now I'm using a Git repo along with a cron job that checks for changes to a certain branch then runs Pelican if necessary. It's fine when I'm at a computer but less than ideal when mobile.

Anyone have better workflows?
