http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/09/western-digital-shows-off-upcoming-wd-black-hybrid-drives/ - announcement here, but they are adding NAND to their HDD too, much like Seagate.

Wonder how this will pan out.

  • I prefer WD rather than Seagate.

  • Looks interesting, I've got a couple of the seagate hybrid drives and they are great. Not normally a fan of WD but might get a couple.

    Seagate drives come with 4/8GB of NAND flash, so those drives with 24/32GB could be really interesting.

    This is what might make it existing. I disregarded the Seagate as the NAND amount was too low to make it worthwhile.

    they are also not to be run in raid. (at least the seagates)
