Relationship between adjacent ASN and network quality

Hi, all,
Does adjacent ASN mean better network quality? If not, can I know the network quality between two vps without running real testing?

Thanks!

ASN has nothing to do with speed / quality, it depends on the networking equipment.

So you are saying if an operate has top of the line Juniper MX router and is single homed to HE, it will provide a good quality / speed because it has a great network gear?

    Nah.

You have entirely missed the point.

  • ASN is use for bgp which is virtual links therefore it will not affect network quality at best it just save your packets from going the extra mile to reach the destination.

    Thanks for your reply.

Then another question is what is the point of providing ASN info in VPS provider's page?

Is run real testing between 2 node the suggested way measuring speed? Is there any other ways?

Yes. And it isn't even guaranteed that the performance won't go down in time.

No. But sometimes one or the other the provider (or DC) will have bandwidth test servers so you can get away with having a VPS only on one side.
