Hello,

I'm considering to expand to the US. What are the best locations and is it worth to do so?

Thanks

    What do those companies have in common? What about Datashack?

  • I would look at colostore(we love them) and choopa(Also awesome).

  • Not sure how "worth", comes into considering expansion. Expansion is something you do when you have grown your existing locations, or just tired of your existing providers and want to shuffle your eggs in different baskets.

  • I'd recommend expanding to a datacenter that a bunch of other companies aren't in, if you do expand to US. Since you're already covering EU, west coast would be best, for picking up clients in Asia and Australia.

  • @Jacob
    We see many people asking for VPS in US at our price level and the service we offer.

    @Jack
    Wow.

    Do you know if Awknet has any offers? Been looking into them for a while.

  • What about the IP's? Can they offer 40 ip's for cheap like Ecatel does?

    The world may never know, they never respond.

  • @Jack said: they charge $0.50-$4 an IP depending on usage.

    the less justified the higher?

  • Ecatel replied to our sales email within 4 hours last week.

  • @Jack said: 7th sales ticket

    If it takes 7 sales tickets to get a response, I'll stay far far away

  • @Jack said: What did they offer you? X3320? I would stay way away its only a matter of time before they leave upstream again.

    @Jack said: Sure it wasn't a E5506?

    Ecatel
    Dualquadcore E5420 (8x 2.5 ghz)
    16 gb ram
    2x 1tb disk raid1 or raid0
    100tb on 1000 mbit unshared

    They only had "one" stock so told me to be quick, regardless didn't go for it. They also said they have E3s coming in 2-3 weeks.

  • Contacted them, hope to get a reply very soon.

    What about Burst.net protection? Is it any good?

  • @solarvm as good as swiss cheese!

    They use Cisco Guard.

  • Somewhere not providers here are. Don't see the need for another Buffalo, NY or Lenoir, NC for example.
