Grupo Panaglobal 15 S.A -> Private Layer drama (allegedly James Reed McCreary/Alpha red)
Got by mail... no idea if real/true/whatever.
The documents are spanish but seem to be basic rent/lease contracts for some racks and hardware, looks like PL was never really customer of Equinix until now and a panamian corporate register copy.

Grupo Panaglobal clarification regarding false statements of Privatelayer Grupo Panaglobal 15 S.A, owned by www.grupoyemail.com, the only investor of Private Layer INC a company founded in Panama would like to clarify the current malicious situation happening within Private Layer. Private Layer has announced that we have decided to not renew their leasing contract . We would like to clarify that this is not true and we renewed a 4 year leasing contract in Sept 2015. During this month Private Layer clients can recall no hardware changes being made or network changes on all E5 2600 and E3 servers. This was PrivateLayer's first attempt to defraud Grupo Panaglobal 15 and we were forced to protect our investment and try to reach an agreement. After almost 1 month we came to an agreement and Private Layer renewed the contract for 4 years. The address listed in the PA corporate registry copy is a lawyer, so i doubt it. He, or at least whoever was/is behind the alias used at PLs ticket system, speaks Spanish though so it is not out of question.
The money defrauded from Alpha Red was sent to HK and IIRC, if even, only partly recovered, so he had some funding.
Lol the Rackend site is a complete rip-off of PrivateLayer (Support, Why Switzerland, etc.)
It's like they said just copy the PL site but make it look like shit.
so Private Layer was leasing equipment from the group at the end of the day until they thought of buying their own refurbished servers ?
If the leasing group is telling the truth, then PL owed them a ton of back payments and instead of making good on it, they took the money and bought off lease/refirb gear, screwing the leasing company out of a fair bit.
Honestly? the leasing company should start deracking.

Well, are we seeing the repeat of Burstnet? When Burstnet had their pissing contest with VolumeDrive/Quantix over them not paying their vendors either, BN suddenly had a backup of VD's database and was emailing everyone as well.
It's possible they were able to gain access to a database backup, especially if PL has been locked out of their equipment.

eitherway PL is the problem.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but I understand why the vendor is doing it. They're likely out 10's of thousands in lease payments and now has to deal with flats of gear in a niche market.
I'm sure they'd much rather continue leasing the equipment than spinning up a host of their own.
Given what @hostnoob said about the sites, though, it sounds like there might be some funny business going on.

Keep in mind in this case everyone in the end is based in Panama and not in EU/US; data protection goes not far there and if you owe legit money (== contract) you are pretty much fair game.

Not only that, if they want to host legit (or even with grey) things they will have to kick a larger amount of PL customers and if they want the servers back they'll have fun with PA and CH customs... can't really win here.
