Nginx and .htaccess?

Hello. Id like to install nginx to test the speed but am not sure if I will be able to redirect sites to non www or 301 redirect for 404 pages etc?
If not, how you manage redirects?

Am not able to read regarding .htaccess in your link. Is supported or not?

See above and no - .htaccess is not supported by nginx. That is a nuisance while switching, but easy to handle with some experience.

One more thing... If I install nginx in already running wordpress vps, should I change something after installation? What will heppend wirh the existing .htaccess file? Will they still work or not? Thank you!

The site will load, but if you use custom path or other stuff in htaccess then no, those will need to go in the configs and converted by you manually. I believe there are htaccess to nginx converters, works most of the time.
