Run this before installing MySQL
apt-get --reinstall install bsdutils
I like to trust people, but what does that do?
Like what does bsdutils serve as?

Ran the script, seem to have fixed mysql
How do i go about resetting my password for phpmyadmin however?
@hello That have nothing with your issue. You got your answer before:
apt-get --reinstall install bsdutils
phpMyAdmin doesn't have passwords, your MySQL accounts do.

It's a collection of hacking tools masquerading as utilities so that the non-technical user won't suspect anything. Great thing you asked!
So you want to trust people, while we can't even trust you using real details instead of fake ones?
