Good evening all :)

AboveClouds is a recently formed company, and this is my first ever advertisement after months of hard work on developing the control panel.

What about features?

  • Automated or On-Demand scalability
  • Start/Pause/Restart/Reinstall
  • Automated Daily backups are optional, maximum 5 backups stored offsite (£0.10 per GB) - restorable On-Demand through the MyCloud Control Panel.
  • DHCP / Dynamic IP - Your instance will be assigned a new IP Address every time it's restarted through the control panel.
  • Hourly billing with itemized billing, easy to track and we put all the figures out in the open for you to see within the MyCloud Control Panel.
  • Quick Deposit, don't mess around with having to enter any details... just choose the amount and proceed to the gateway, just like that..!
  • Performance Analysis, our automated control panel monitors your instance every 30 seconds, and then provides the average/maximum figures recorded for a 24 hour period on a per hour basis.
  • Automated Reverse DNS Records through the Control Panel
  • Add / Delete additional IP Addresses, add comments to IPs.

    And there's also a lot more.. :)

So what's it gonna' cost me?

  • You realize that you have no links to your website in your post, right?

  • Hi @ItsChrisG, the hyperlinks are there.. I've put them on a new line and put them in bold, hopefully should be more visible now.

Thanks for letting me know. :-)

  • Cost per month please, not per hour :)

Is there any abuse tracking on this? I feel that could easily be abused.

There sure is.. all client control panel activity is logged, both publicly and we have extensive data logging in terms of control panel activity so it's there if need be.

  • Auto scale? Doesn't this make abuse / high CPU loads even worse?

    Thanked by 1Jacob
  • Hey there,
The primary idea behind this being that we actively collect statistics about each VM every 30 seconds anyway for the performance analysis, and the auto scaler function combines all the data and the current usage to make decissions as to if the VM should be upgraded to the next available package.

Things it doesn't do: determine if the package should be upgraded based on the load or the CPU Usage at that time, it only reads and calculates disk/memory/bandwidth as well as it takes I/O data into account.

So it isn't introducing any risks whatsoever.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Are you able to provide hardware based virtulisation (KVM or XEN-HVM) instead of container (Virtuozzo) virtual machines?

  • Accept credit card?

    I can't stop laughing.

design similliar to deadpooler, but I can't remember the name.

Yes, that is not exactly what I would call a "feature".

  • Good morning,
There's no harm in having it, if it has full traceability, what's the problem?

The variety of options available to the customer in my eyes is more important than having a lack of.

  • Good morning Virzo,

We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as PayPal.

  • Hey,
Thanks for your question, unfortunately not, the control panel has been built around OpenVZ although It is easily adaptable but that's something for me to look into further at a later point.

  • So if I host a website, every time I reboot I need to update DNS?

  • DHCP is an optional extra, it can be toggled on/off On-demand by the customer.

So no, you wouldn't have to update the DNS everytime a reboot takes place, if the Dynamic IP feature is disabled.

    Visualization method? OpvenVZ?

  • Hey,

    That's correct, this is OpenVZ.

    OpvenVZ Cloud, k.

  • Hey Rokok,
While there is no High Availability or fail-over in place, all Hypervisors have bonded interfaces, dual power supplies from separate feeds.

We have our own IP Addresses (sub PA), and I'll be releasing IPV6 into the Control Panel later on tonight.

OpenVZ at present is the only feasible way to achieve auto scaling.

OpenVZ doesn't do DHCP... Unless you're using Veth in which case I can bet you don't check ARP spoofing.

You say that if you toggle it off you keep your IP. I am willing to bet that also means you can hijack any (un?)used IP on the node...

  • The customer will only be able to use IPs which are assigned.

Don't worry, I've covered all the bases. It's been trialed and tested, it works absolutely fine.

    Thanks for your concern.

Any 4 GB memory plan available ?

  • @junkless I'll let you double up on The Advanced Cloud Plan, sound good?

Sounds good. But is there anyway to manage (reboot, reinstall) the vm without logging onto your website?

  • @junkless I've been meaning to finish the API, so give me an hour and I'll have it ready, although it will only support basic start/stop/restart for now.

  • That should be enough for now. Additionally, reinstall and disk/bandwidth usage will be a welcome addition.
