Like ChicagoVPS handled unsubscribes in the past?

About how I expect the pre-unsubscribe to be handled :(

Chris being a twat doesn't equate to @mpkossen being one.

    I believe no one

From the sound of it, the import is being made from the Vanilla database into something else? Admittedly, handling that down the road and honoring removal requests in combination with future sync tasks may be interesting.

Nothing that can't be overcome, of course.

Mailchimp handles the unsubs independently so that shouldn't be an issue.

  • The email addresses should have been imported, so unsubscribing is now a possibility.

I've just changed my LET email address. How does that work?

  • You'll receive the spam to the one that was imported to mailchimp, ie in your case the one before your recently stated email change.

Newsletter is sending. I hope you don't find it too offensive.

    Incoming drama ;)

I received it 3x, one for each email address I've used on my account here. Doesn't bother me, easy to resolve, but I predict drama regardless.

I thought it was going to be worse than what it was. (You can remove the image tags if you don't want it @Mods)

For those who aren't receiving it. Here's a copy

I think we managed to make it pretty painless and well done. At least that was the goal.

There are no plans to allow these to become spammy. A few times per year, and everytime we'll make sure we have something worth saying before sending something.

I like the part where you ripped the "learn more" button from Amazon.

Actually, I like the part where you ripped the ENTIRE HEADER of that email from Amazon.

  • It looked horrendous.

Shame on CC for making such a shame to newsletters.

(at least you could have made it look modern :/)

Eh, not as terrible than I thought. Still pretty bad though.

Seriously, shame on whoever's idea it was to steal graphics from Amazon.com. It makes the whole thing look sleazy and unprofessional. If you'd only taken a few minutes to create an original header instead the newsletter would have been perfectly fine :(

Wow you are right, the image was definitely copied. Will have to have a talk with the fellow who put that image together and make sure we're more original next time.

They do say imitation is the greatest form of flattery though. I hate the Learn More button though!

Ironically, if it weren't for the button I wouldn't have recognized it. That (ugly, dated) button style is like an Amazon signature.

Same here. First thing I thought of was amazon when I saw this.

It depends on the network and who the provider is. I would pay more to get something stable.

I unsubscribed and still got it. Please remove my email address @jbiloh.

Yeah, forgot about that as I'm usually not the disk guy and am okay with a medium-class network.
