Just received this boss:

Hi there @githubusername,

As we continue to stuff the pack with the best developer tools, we have some exciting announcements for members:
New to the pack: AWS Educate

Today we’re making an addition to the Student Developer Pack: Amazon Web Services' Educate. You can join Amazon's own student developer program, AWS Educate, and gain access to Amazon Web Services’ on-demand cloud computing, big data, database, storage and other IT services.

By joining AWS Educate (free for all students), you will receive grants of Amazon Web Services cloud computing credits. These credits provide $35 to $100 of access to self-paced labs on AWS services, coursework and online content on IT for gaming, mobile app development, HPC, and access to in-person and virtual events. Plus: GitHub Student Developer Pack members get a bonus of $15 in AWS credit grants for a total of $50 to $115 in credit*.

To join AWS Educate and get your additonal $15 credit grant, head on over to your Student Developer Pack.
YubiKey discount for Student Developer Pack members

GitHub recently announced support for FIDO Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) - a rapidly growing open authentication standard that helps add another layer of security to your GitHub account. To take advantage of the security improvements provided by U2F, you'll need to purchase a physical hardware key. We've partnered with Yubico, co-creator of the U2F protocol, to provide Student Developer Pack members a standing 20% discount on YubiKey purchases.

Read more about how U2F keys work, and visit Yubico's special offer page to verify your account and get your discounted YubiKey. Take a look at the GitHub U2F documentation to learn how to associate your U2F key with your GitHub account.
Classroom for GitHub

Classroom for GitHub makes it easier than ever to teach with GitHub.

Thousands of teachers use GitHub in their courses every day. They distribute starter repositories, give feedback on pull requests, and collect assignments. In addition to helping teachers provide a better learning experience, teaching with GitHub gives students early exposure to software development best practices like version control, issue tracking, and code review.

Sound like something your teachers could use? Share the announcement and ask them to give Classroom for GitHub a try in your courses.
Summer internships at GitHub in San Francisco

You could spend this summer learning and devloping your skills with mentorship from GitHub employees. We're looking for talented students to join our first ever internship program, designed to give students unique work experience by pairing you with real GitHubbers on real projects.

We're currently accepting applications for the following internships:

    Customer Success Intern
    Sales Development Intern
    Social Impact Intern

You can always find the full list of open internships on our jobs page.

Cheers,

speaking of AWS, they announced Korea region on blog yesterday (*ed: the 4th, rather), starting in 'early 2016'

    https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/next-stop-korea/

  • And there's the UK planned by the end of 2016 if I remember well.

YubiKey discount for Student Developer Pack members

Does anyone know where we can find this? I can't see AWS or Yubikey on https://education.github.com/pack

    Edit: The links appeared now

All you had to do is ask.

But I can't see it without logging in.

They even reduced the github digitalocean credit to $50. WTF @Jar. I understand why. I just wanted to make about 5000 other github student accounts for my alter egos, but now it's not really worth it :(.
