Which LEB providers offer dedicated CPU cores?

I'm referring to providers with a good reputation and in Europe if possible. I know time4vps for now.

@AshleyUk ZXhost also has plans with dedicated cores I think

  • I see high prices... for now nothing beats Time4vps...

  • @dediserve

Why consider anything else for LEB-range dedicated cpu?

In another thread they said they don't actually offer dedicated cpu, but you can use up to one CPU. So you are still contending with other customers and probably if you hog the CPU 24x7 you'll get told to leave.

Our dedicated product is dedicated as in the dictionary definition. Its your core/thread to load up as you need, max it 24x7, its your dedicated RAM and your dedicated storage. Its preallocated to each customer.

    Dedicated X5650 Core, 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD, 1TB BW $6.50/mo

Our DediCore range is exactly that; dedicated.

  • AbusiveCores by drServer :)

What they said in the other thread would seem to contradict the last part there:

time4vps said: We are declaring that you can use 1 CPU core 100% 24/7. Simple as that.

http://SpeedyKVM.com cores/ram/disk are fully dedicated, not in Europe though sorry.

  • The absolute most efficient method would be to share a server with someone who does not use their CPU a lot. I would let you use my Hetzner CPU, which (benchmark wise) equals roughly 15 times what drserver and markturner offer, for 10€ a month, but someone else is already using it. ;D

Since you are a long term member here I am sure someone else here would share their Hetzner server with you. :)

That's my first option to recommend but the Time4Vps lets use core for 24/7

Vultr, Online.net Atom dedi and Scaleway

Yep, they are good, but there are no valid LEB offers for the time being as far as I can see.

Thanks, but it's not LEB price tag at all.

I'm 99% sure if you PM them they should be able to offer you a VPS within LEB range.

  • I wan't aware that Vultr and DO CPUs were dedicated

I'm positive about that, but that's not the way it works. I mean an offer should be up for grabs.

Send us a sales enquiry and we can make it so (limited in quantity).

  • Hi!

    Thanks for contacting us!

Our CPU cores are shared among Droplets on the instance, and we try to prevent excessive usage by any particular Droplet to ensure a consistent experience for all.

We hope this helps! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do!

@sandro if you cheap out you will just be left hanging at some point, there is no such thing as a cheap dedicated core, you get an avg of 16 or 24 logical cores on a server used for VPS hosting, sometimes 32, its really simple maths :)

You will find people selling you a contended dedicated core, what this means is you can burn it at 100% 24x7 but all hypervisors will let you do this it might look like your getting 100% but really your only getting 100% of what is available at that time which is rarely ever 100%

DO etc just dont pay much attention so you sort of get a dedicated core but if it impacts the node they will kick you off.

If you want a dedicated core on a VPS be prepared to pay or get a dedicated server instead.

  • @sandro Most likely they won't do anything about you using 100% of the core unless you're mining altcoins.

  • Thank you for the recommendation, we can certainly help, just shoot an email to [email protected] with your requirements and mention this thread.

  • What applications use a physical core 24x7 at 100%?

If my server runs encrypted backups or sometimes wget-s something, it's cpu heavy. My wordpress sites also use sometimes a bit of cpu % by pulling rss feeds, but it's no way 24x7 at 100%.

I'm swapping on digitalocean's 1GB plan, but not fully utilizing their e5 core.

Maybe it's more for peace of mind. The problem with a lot of providers is there are no real physical limits other than "Fair share" for us at least, that is a blanket statement which offers no real intelligence for the end user.

  • I don't want to run a game server at all. It's definitely for a peace of mind.
