root@ovz-vps-hybrid:~$ w
04:42:56 up 12 days, 9:54, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE JCPU PCPU WHAT
root pts/0 0.0.0.0 04:42 0.00s 0.00s 0.00s w

If you notice, there is 2 users online but i have only one ssh session connected. My virtual console is off too. Is this normal for ovz?

  • Well it depends.... whats your process list showing? do you got an sftp session open?

  • Use "w" or "who" in the command terminal to see the logged in users.

He did... from his original post only shows 'root'.

But if he types who, it should show the IP address of each login active.

    EDIT:

by the way if a system administrator is in the VPS via vzctl enter ###, it won't even show up on w/who. So if someone else is showing up on OpenVz, it's most likely not someone from the provider.

  • Didn't see it sorry.

    Reboot?

I wonder how many folks will get that SC Ghost reference...

    I'm Korean.

  • w shows sshed/logged in users, you can still run processes as whatever user without it showing up in w.

  • Some of this are users consoled into their VPS's that's what I normally see. Freaked me out the first time I saw it lol.
