Looking for... cloud servers
Hi guys,
Looking for some cloud servers, really don't want to go with EC2 but will at a last resort. I need something that matches amazons security groups as well as 1000mbit to the vm (shared, obviously) I also need it be reliable, on a good network and to have internal ip addresses so I can interconnect multiple nodes. Also need as much traffic as possible pref, unmetered inbound limited outbound.
Any suggestions?
Budget for 3-4 instances is $50-60/mo
Thanks,
Phil

@BronzeByte with them at the moment, the firewall is awesome the rules go in at the edge network so it makes mitigating ddos a breeze. Looking for other providers though
@Zen the port speed is limited :-(
https://www.digitalocean.com/ No bandwidth limitations. I use them and they have been great so far.
Eurovps.com but not softlayer.com
^ that.
Digital ocean has internal ips?
I don't trust "Unlimited" hosts... there's always a limit, just a TOS away from how you hit it.
Believe they don't
GreenQloud.com has internal IP's if I remember correctly.
?
Seconded. Check if they match your specs as I'm not 100% sure.
Dediserve are a bit pricey only have around $60/mo to spend on this. I need the security groups and internal IP's to load balance a few things aswell as being able to defend against a few pesky SYN floods, hence hardware firewall.. so far only securecloud has been able to offer a true hardware firewall as well as leaseweb's cloud which allows me to null route IP's at the network level and add firewall rules on a hardware firewall
Thanks for the suggestions keep em coming :-)
Phil
Thanks for the mentions
Our instances / servers include firewalls, so you can secure them and have secure internal traffic, tho your budget will only stretch to about 2 nodes (4 cores, 2gb ram, 50gb ssd san (maybe enough for 4 servers?)
Joyent.com!
512MB ~ $21/month.
Free 20TB bandwidth on all accounts is a huge bonus.
Free for how long? I remember joyent from some sponsored node.js event quite some time ago. I think at that time they were charging $0.21/GB bandwidth.
CloudVPS.com
It's not promotional AFAIK, just the standard gig.

GigeNETCloud? Great provider.
