ARM compatiblity

Hi,
I understand that packages must be ARM compatible to work on these servers so you cannot assume that when you buy those low end server you just get a lower performance but you could also be missing out some important features.
Let's say you have Ubuntu installed, will common web server work? PHP, MySQL?

Is there a list?

Dunno about Ubuntu, but in Debian about 98% of packages provide an ARM version (look for "armhf"):

Of course all the most common things such as web servers, PHP/Perl/Python, databases are included.

General the rule of thumb is as long as you don't need to manually download software from some random website, or to add custom repositories/PPAs to make something work, i.e. as long as you rely on the OS package repository, it will work on ARM.
