We need beta testers!

Our company, QuickVPS Ltd, is slowly moving away from shared and VPS hosting and into dedicated and cloud hosting. At this early stage, I'm just wondering if anyone here would be interested in beta testing our new cloud platform. We're using small clouds with redundant hardware SANs and redundant hypervisors, all managed by OnApp and controlled by a fancy new client portal allowing for nearly complete autonomy. We currently have the new website, billing and support systems up, as well as most of the hardware.

I don't have an offer yet, but after gauging interest, I might release a low end plan to LEB. Given that it's beta it will be a chance to grab something and below the normal price, but it will still be a bit more expensive than most of the offers on LEB, partly because of our unique guarantee of "zero downtime or zero invoice".

How much water vapour is included in them clouds?

People getting on planes now must be worried, if you think about it, because of all the data up in the sky now, it might hit something
    /Hehe

    I would be interested.

  • I'm interested too :)

  • I'm in :D

Nice to see this much interest! :)

  • Me too :D ...

  • Where? I'm interested if it will be somewhere in europe

  • Please say you didn't sign the OnApp contract?

[@OnApp said] OnApp may amend the Fees upon 20 Business Days’ prior written notice after the Initial Term but not during the Initial Term. If such amendments are not acceptable to the Customer, the Customer shall have the right to terminate the OnApp Product Agreement by giving written notice to OnApp within 20 Business Days of notification of the Fees’ amendments .In suche vent, the OnApp Product Agreement shall terminate within 10 Business Days from the receipt of the Customer’ s termination notice.

So basically if they increase there prices you have 10 days from when you decide its un-acceptable to move to another platform?

@breton: It will be UK-based to start with, further locations will be added after some time.

@LV_Matt: Haven't signed it yet. Adding OnApp is actually the very last step on our roadmap. When we do come to sign it of course I'll read it carefully and raise any concerns. Thanks for bringing that to my attention though, I'll look out for it.

Would be great to try the cloud platform, I'm In !

  • What's going to happen to existing VPS customers?

  • jhjh Member

@trelawney: We'll be offering you the chance to move to move over if you want to but if you don't want to that's fine. We won't be deploying any new VPS nodes though, so new customers will have to go down the cloud route if they want something from us.

  • I'd like to join in the fun too ~squee~

  • Let me know when your dedicated server pricing table is ready, I'm very interested.

@ztec: At the moment all we have is a bunch of E3-1220's. Let me know if you're interested or what else you need. I'm sure we can put something together for you.

@maxexcloo: You're welcome to do a review but you'll have to buy one I'm afraid. LEB isn't really our target market for these but I think that how people here run lots of benchmarks and comparisons etc. it would be good for our new product line. You never know though, maybe LEB'ers will sacrifice space for performance and uptime and it'll end up becoming popular around here..

@circus: Which URL and do you know which part?

  • The main site and when it eventually load it looks like this -> http://i.imgur.com/1vNhq.png

  • jhjh Member

@circus: are you able to connect to cdn.qualityservers.co.uk?

  • Yes, I can ping it (92.123.154.51).

  • jhjh Member

Hmm. Not entirely sure what the problem is. Does it work in a proper browser? ;)

BTW let me know what you think of our new site and its contents (not quite done): http://www.theukcloud.com/

Looks great. The problem is the SSL certificate, I used to get an Invalid Akamai SSL error.

Just my opinion but the tiny Arial font makes pages like: http://www.theukcloud.com/data-centre/look very boring. Try find a nice one here : https://www.google.com/webfonts/ ;)

  • jhjh Member

@Infinity: I don't get an SSL error, and the certificate is not Akamai anyway :s. Is this the URL you're looking at?
