Budget?
Ramnode? 90 ms from DO London to Atlanta.
Edit: 70 ms from DO London to NY as well.
be careful what you say to Nekki ... didn't you see the gun.
Don't have one. I'm prepared to pay whatever it costs to get quality.
SecureDragon NJ? Not sure on the ping, but you can check here: http://drgn.biz/
Ramnode NY or BuyVM NJ would be a couple others.
Atlanta is 106ms, so not exactly what you asked for, but you're welcome to have a month trial FOC
good point
https://securedragon.net/ Lenoir, Piscataway, Chicago are less than 100ms from London.
INIZ http://nyc-us.lg.iniz.com/ - latest LEB offers
https://hostigation.com/ - Charlotte, North Carolina
http://lg.nodeserv.com/ Jacksonville, almost 2 years in business @Jade_G
http://www.budgetvz.com/ Ain't aware of their Miami IP to ping. It's not 2 years technically, but Anthony knows way around I guess. BVZAugust 10% off.
Secure Dragon NJ is a good shout, 97ms to my London PoP. Big fan of those guys. My only reservation is that I have some stuff with SD already and would prefer to differentiate.
Ramode NY comes back at 96ms, so there's a possibility. BuyVM NJ has incredibly erratic ping, coming in between 99-150ms (!), so I'll give them a miss.
To my PoP, only Piscataway is less than 100ms.
Just over 100ms, which was really the upper limit for me.
120ms
BudgetVZ isn't Anthony. I've had some stuff with BudgetVZ and not particularly impressed, plus they don't meet my time in busines requirement.
I appreciate the offer, but given there are hosts who have been in business 2+ years and have better ping to my London PoP, realistically I wouldn't sign up with you on this occasion even if the trial was flawless so I'd be wasting both our time and your resources.
@MSPNick do you have anything?
He has Buffalo AFAIK he is just eating a boiled egg atm.
ColoCrossing no V6. Whoops
I thought he had another DC he worked with other than CC.
Afaik no. Otherwise I'd have one.
I've got CC new york, I've moved out of the other one now.
Happy to make you a deal for that though.
I thought this would probably be an easy requirement, quite surprising that it's actually not; so far only 2 viable providers. Even DO doesn't have consistent ping below 100ms.
maybe you just have a crap isp?
Maybe, but it is what it is and I want what I want.
My PoP is in a decent location however, so I'm confident that's not the case.
SD, Ramnode? And what about INIZ NY location?
Check drServer Miami location out too, Xen Mini plan.
The same goes for @Maximum_VPS, Jacksonville location http://lgjf.maximumvps.net/ But amount of traffic is fairly low on their 64-256GB RAM plans.
My bad, they haven't been in business for 2 years
102ms to Buffalo CC from up north!
Serious. What ISP you with.
BT business (screw sports).
Can I crash at yours?
SD and Ramnode, yes. I actually had something similar with Iniz not long back but wasn't pleased with performance so not looking to go back there at this time.
Ping comes back at around 200ms from the test IP, so that's not happening.
Quite sure he doesn't want me as a customer, just as I'm quite sure I don't want him as a provider.
Pretty sure I'm going to pick up something from both Ramnode and Secure Dragon, I can get the 2 plans with the specs I want for $29.98 a year combined, I was thinking I might end up paying that for a single plan so getting redundancy into the bargain isn't to be sniffed at.
Good call. OpenVPN HA?
I'm using SD for my DNS slaves. recommended
OpenVPN's definitely part of the plan.
Bit disappointing that the thread ended so predicatably, but on the other hand it's good to know my own personal picks were validated.
Next week's potential thread looking for stuff in the EU might be a bit more interesting.
Great, that's in my diary.
