Is there any cheap VPS (lower than 30$ annually ) that supports Hentai @Home?

I formerly hosting H@H on my NAS machine, but now I move to an ISP who don't give me a public IP,
So I'm looking for a cheap VPS to host It,Which needs
512M RAM
10GB Space
1T/month Bandwidth
a public IP(can be dynamic ,no need to be static)

but found most cheap VPS providers banned H@H usage

In this post
http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/19420/eu-vps-to-run-hentai-home/p1
@Nick_A from ramnode explained that they support Adult Content, but banned H@H usage for

CPU abuse. Maybe it was just the clients we had running it but it was like the Hydra. Kill one process, two more spring up ;_;

but to my testing on my NAS(a very low-end configuration, atom dual-core),it costs no more than 1% of CPU and 300MB RAM at about 400KB/s bandwidth(v 1.25 client)

maybe at that time Nick tested H@H is an old version that eaten up too much cpu?

=================
can anyone tell me is there VPS providers I needed
thx alot!

  • As long as you make sure it won't eat too much resource.

Is it not also to do with the fact that it is distribution of copyright material too?

Either way I suspect you are best off looking for something in Russia, Ukraine, Romania etc.

Its resource consumption can be controlled by limiting servicing bandwidth

As odd as it sounds, I can't say I've ever received a DMCA for H@H.

Do u provide a speed test for these server locations?
    (I won't running H@H on it for sure,just hosting a simple website )

Most content in H@H is not copyrighted within EU/US, only has local copyright in Asia. Unlike music/tv/movies the producers also don't bother to send abuse.

  • Any KVM/Xen would do really. Some OpenVZ but try KVM first. $30/yr might get you something.

    LOL

IMHO It's illegal not only for copyright issues, but also child-porn like(loli/shotacon) content(for myself loli/shota is a huge turn off though....)

    It's a people-ran volunteer CDN for http://g.e-hentai.org/

I wonder does that 1TB really get you anywhere at Hentai@home. Because e.g. for Tor this is laughably low, something a good relay uses in a day.

    borislee said: illegal .... child-porn like(loli/shotacon) content

Only a few brain-fucked countries criminalize drawn or animated loli/shotacon content.

    Please don't Google it.

  • so it's like folding@home, except instead of helping humanity you're distributing cartoon porn?

Only in Germany (where also books are illegal, yes, written content, no drawings). US declared it legal and most EU countries have specific laws that only apply to real pornography.

I'm not planning using H@H on your VPS..

well if we can't defeat Alzheimer's ,maybe porn will help increasing birth rates(of course I'm kidding)

Just a phpWind forum, with nothing to do with H@H and other illegal/"gray" content.

    Is this also forbidden?

    That's absolutely fine then.

If your considering NL and are not in a desperate rush you might want to wait 48 hours though a special celebration offer will be released by then.

I thought Hentai @Home was a joke, like someone took SETI @Home and was making a joke. I didn't know it was a real thing.

My H@H client is running on a 128mb vps and barely breaking a sweat, btsync and other useless service is putting more pressure on it. Mind you I had a very conservative setting(5gb cache space and 5000KB speed cap) but I was surprise it didn't blow up after 3+ months of nonstop operation.
