I am looking for recommended US vps providers :)

Preferably under $80(around 30-50 is good) PER MONTH

Requirements:
1. Managed
2. Cpanel
3. Litespeed support
4. SSD
5. Xen is preferred but open to all(Openvz, KVM, etc)
6. 2 GB RAM at least
7. CPU- 2 core at least

Specs are not that important to me.

I'll be using the site for an Invision power board(IPB) forum

My current host is A Small orange on a 2 GB VPS plan.

Please no
1. Wiredtree
2. knownhost
3. futurehosting
4. Big Scoots

Perhaps you are right lol. Though it doesn't see what people offer as suggestions and it gives me homework to do :D

You need to say what specs you are looking for and what location, otherwise the price alone is meaningless.

your budget is monthly or annually?

I don't really look at SPECS....I just need the suggestions within my price range and I usually go from there to see what I need/want.

(I also edited the original post lol)

    Monthly.

How about RAM or HDD ? What do you expect ?

  • perennateperennate Member, Host Rep

Can you clarify the issue with WiredTree/Liquidweb and the others? Do you already have services with them and just want some diversity, or you didn't like their service? If the latter, then what was bad about them (otherwise hard to suggest something when we don't know what you want to avoid)?

2 GB ram minimum and at least 30 GB SSD preferred(but I suppose HDD is okay....)

  • @Kai I invite you to take a look at VaporNode's new managed VPS services here: https://vapornode.com/managed-vps

These are high-availability managed KVM VPS located in Phoenix, AZ, USA. cPanel can be licensed as an addon with the VPS for only an additional $5/month. While we do not directly license LSWS, we can certainly install it for you.

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

    Regards

    1. Wiredtree-
I disliked the customer service I had with them.

    2. Liquidweb-
I find them to be highly overpriced($100 for a 2 GB VPS with Cpanel) and at times slow support response time for simple issues

    3. Knownhost-
My site was repeatedly going slow and lagging and I complained numerous times. It took them about a month to figure out something was up(After telling me was all fine) and having to move me to a new server.

Knownhost had some issue where the mail wasn't working which was bad because members literally couldn't validate their accounts which was a no no since they couldn't do anything and I had to start manually approving people which was unnecessary/added work.

    1. HostDime-
Also had loading issues(they always seem to occur at the same time lasting for 2-3 hours off and on) where the site would take like 15-20 seconds(sometimes more) to load a page or time out.

I had requested some assistance for something(I forgot what) and instead of backing up before doing changes, they went ahead and did it...and they accidentally deleted my whole site. Thankfully, It deleted all the files but I had a back-up of the files and they were able to restore it from that back-up and the database didn't get delete so they were able to piece things back together.

I left because I felt that was incredibly crazy that they didn't back up before making major changes and whatever they did deleted it.

Big scoots is great and Future Hosting was okay but I am mainly looking for new choices to choose from.

I saw some questionable reviews on WHT for Host4geeeks and I didn't like how their rep responded to them, personally.

Well it is not possible to please everyone but they do try their best to keep their customers happy.

Specs is okayish, but "managed" thing is questionable on LET :)

    LOL why is that

  • rokokrokok Member

Because target user is Low End, manage ~ expensive. Most provider dump manage things to fit LE cost :)

Since you got a good budget for the specs, go get an unmanaged VPS, purchase cPanel license from buycpanel & have some kind of freelancer for task based management.

you know that has been suggested to me before but I am the type of guy where I kind of like having my stuff all in one,ya know? I don't like having to go this place or that place......and with a Free lance management company, I'd like to know my management fully knows the product that I am using and they can quickly get to it and are on call should I need them 24/7

  • We can offer this for you well with-in your budget. Submit a ticket at https://w3hostingservices.com/submitticket.ph and we can get a quote over to you in just minutes!

@Kai Canada acceptable? budget kvm, not LE

  • You're asking in the wrong place tbh, LET is catered towards cheap unmanaged plans. You'd be best off asking on WHT

Most of the managed hosts I'm aware of are ones that you want to avoid

  • fitvpnfitvpn Member

There no US providers on LEB/LET.. empty!

    Hey Kai,

It's interesting that you would mention that you would like all the services (management, hosting, and cPanel) in one place, because BuycPanel currently has a exclusive partnership with GoVPS.com. We do offer fully managed VPS servers as well as internal pricing for cPanel licenses. Which means you will be able to manage all of these things in one place! Although GoVPS does not have many reviews as of yet, you will see that BuycPanel's service is time and time again reviewed in a positive light! And if you are still not convinced currently we are offering some of our base VPS's for FREE for two months. Anyways, if you have anymore questions please feel free to PM me here or contact us at [email protected].

    Thank you

  • BuyVM offers managed at around 30$. Recommended.

Thanks for all the suggestions :) Definitely was a lot more useful than WHT was.

I am still looking so don't hesitate for more.

  • Try buyvm. I read somewhere, they were about to roll out fully managed plans soon
