I like.. I like.. Location sucks for me unfortunately, but pretty good offer!

@vpsnodebox Marc, cut this down! So much text.. http://www.vpsnodebox.com/about-us

Can we use the promo code with annual payment? Because it says:
    Discounts:
    1 month free /w semi-annual pay
3 months free /w annual pay

    Or it's not stacked?

  • @AsadHaider I know and it's next on my to do list. It has to be redone anyway, as we got a new crew member that will handle VPS management for customers who want that kind of service. I will make it short and to the point in the next couple of days, I promise.

@Melita I wish we could stack them as we always want to offer the best bang for the buck, but at the moment it is not possible. Once we grow a little bit more I don't think that it will be a problem. Thank you for asking do.

@vpsnodebox Cool, I literally went "holy sh*t" when I saw that page. Did you start vpsnodebox with your brother then? I just can't read that company history..

Add some tips and tricks to your blog for customers. I know it's a pain in the ass, you'll probably eventually get tired of posting. Maybe pay someone real cheap to find and rewrite articles on it?

Hmm... what kind of hardware DDoS protection are we talking about here?

@Jack said: Mention DDoS protection and @joepie91 is in there...

You also came too, how apt :D

I somehow read that text to the end. :D

  • @Melita You have far too much free time..

  • Hardware DDoS protection is installed at the network level. It works really and the customer won't feel a thing most of the time if something happens.

  • I've sent this to @Chief as well, so I hope that it will be posted on lowendbox.com :) The KVM deal is pretty sweet and we worked hard so that we could offer it at this price.

@AsadHaider I appreciate all your suggestions. Time is a big factor for me and the other guys but we are getting there. And if need be, I will post a job offer for our blog. Cheap is not a word that crosses my mind to often because I believe that people should be rewarded for their hard work.

As far as starting the business, in the beginning it was just a hobby project without a name. It was just me with a 12GB Quad Core Xeon server experimenting different configurations that where meant to improve Drupal performance. Two months later, in December last year drupalcentric.com was born, and VPS servers where not part of the equation yet. So it kind of evolved from there, started bringing people on board and changed the name a couple of time for better SEO. More than anyone I love a short and unique name, but it's hard to find a domain that hasn't already been registered.

By the way, you can always write to [email protected] if you think that our About US page is too long :P It will be reworked do :)

    @vpsnodebox,
Can you provide Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 license? If yes, how much is it?

If no, where should I get this license and what kind of license? I'm sorry I never bought any server license before (my provider usually provides it)...

  • @Melita It's always a good idea to visit our website and read the FAQ as it answers any questions that you may have, including this one.

Anyway, I will answer it for you: We only offer the trial version, you will have to provide your own license. If we would enter into a licensing agreement with MS then we would have to lock out those folks that already own a license and they wouldn't be happy because a price increase would follow. Since we can't make everyone happy, we opted for the simplest solution to let everyone provide their own license.

  • KVM is cheaper than Xen?

  • jarjar Patron Provider, Top Host, Veteran

What CPU is the system running by the way? Quite interested in a KVM with that kind of storage and price.

@ErawanArifNugroho It's a promotion meant to introduce a new customer base to a new service. We have a pretty well established customer base for Xen VPS servers.

@jarland Intel Quad Core Xeon with HyperThreading enabled running at around 3GHz.

What clock speed per core? Just curious, I like a good fast KVM :)

    @vpsnodebox,

Actually I asking that question because I read your FAQ pages, and it doesn't state which kind of license should I bought.

I'm sorry because up until now, I only have bought desktop windows. My provider always provides me a server license, and it caused me to not having any experience on what to buy for a server license. Would you please enlighten me about the right license to buy, and if possible, the best place for it?

Should I bought this for around US$800: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-Server-Standard-2012/dp/B0093CB30M/

Or I can just get away with this for US$38: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-Server-1-User-License/dp/B0093CA11Y

The question that popped up when reading your FAQ is whether your node is already licensed with the server software, because it will confirm which license should I bought.

  • @Melita you should definitively buy the $800 license and then use it on a $7 / month VPS.

    Thanked by 1jar
  • jarjar Patron Provider, Top Host, Veteran

    I'd pay $800 if 2012 is better than 2008 ;)

Just a little bitter about 64bit printer sharing to 32bit machines on a domain network...

    /derail

  • @jarland I was just being a tad sarcastic. Normally if you run Windows Server in a VPS you need a client license. But Microsoft licensing terms are written in such a language that tomorrow they can turn around and say: "Hey everyone, from now on you can only run Windows Server inside a... Windows Server VM...." and that would be the end of it.

Any reviews? Do you provide refund? And why KVM's CPU cores less than XEN?
    Thanks.

  • @cnzhhi same amount of cores on both, for everything else please read the FAQ on the KVM VPS page, it answers all of your questions.

  • Wow, this is too much for me to resist. (>_<)

    Total Due Today: $10.33 USD?
Could you offer a test file without cloudflare?

  • @hiphiphip It's called prorated billing. Your next invoice would be on November 1st. It says right there on the checkout page.

    Test file here: http://test.vpsnodebox.com/100mb.bin

Should be faster than the CloudFlare version.

Edit your posts and change the first test file URL or forward it to the current one. I was beginning to think you were not that reliable
