OpenVPN AS Issue?
So I managed to get OpenVPN working fine on this OVZ node before. However, after renumbering it and transferring DCs, led to something going wrong. I keep receiving the following errors:
Error:

Any ideas?
Yes it is enabled.
cat /dev/net/tun
cat: /dev/net/tun: File descriptor in bad state
Comments
is iptables installed?
Yes I thought it was that too but no luck.
You need to contact your provider on this, or are you referring to your actual node?
These are the results of starting the OpenVPN AS server on an OVZ VPS on my node.
@jarland knows how hard this is to fix. its annoying. thats why xen is better
Looks as though iptables kernel module is not enabled
http://openvpn.net/index.php/access-server/docs/admin-guides/186-how-to-run-access-server-on-a-vps-container.html
@DanielM Yeah it tried to fight me last time...had to drop the pride and follow instructions
Yeah it has been loaded.
there is multiple iptables modules that need to be loaded..
@Brandon Ask @pometreus, he's THE expert.
There are three ipt modules you need loaded for O-AS to work. They have all three listed on their very own site.
Search harder
The thing is that this worked fine on this server before. It was after I renumbered it and rebooted it a few times that this started happening. Looking into this further...
Try uninstalling and reinstalling OpenVPN AS ?
In my experience it is the IPT_Mark module that has not been loaded but @jarland has provided a link to give to your host.
The OpenVPN AS guys really don't like OpenVZ
Nonsense. They like it enough to have a dedicated page on their site for it: http://openvpn.net/index.php/access-server/docs/admin-guides/186-how-to-run-access-server-on-a-vps-container.html
It works fine, like I said, work a bit harder to figure out which one is missing
(Though, people have already told you, takes the fun out of it :<)
@Wintereise I assure you, I speak to the staff on almost a daily basis, they don't like it and they don't develop with it in mind.
Obviously they are responsible so have produced a guide.
pop in to OpenVPN-AS on freenode if you want to verify that before 'nonsensing' me again
Ask the admin to enable the required iptables module and remember to reboot the vps to take effect.
@AnthonySmith Who ever develops targeting OVZ as their desired platform? Especially things that have corporate deployments?
I can't find a single reason for it.
Last time I was there, I didn't find any OVZ hate, though things may or may not have changed since then. Fnode is filled with elitists anyway~
@Wintereise They actually asked me to create Xen based templates for them due to the volume of support and annoyance caused by OpenVZ hosts not knowing what to enable.
Either way the bottom line is hosts can make it work, its just many of the point and click hosts dont know how which causes frustration for customers I guess.
Heh, fair enough.
Indeed, it can be made to work, just isn't for your day to day clueless sysadmin :P
