Lowend colocation (Mini-ITX)
So I'm looking into building some Mini-ITX systems (dual cores with 4 or 8 GB of RAM + 500 or 1 TB disk)... and unfortunately I'm finding it hard to find someone whos willing to collocate them because they aren't rack mountable or if they're willing to collocate them the size and low power consumption (35W) doesn't effect the price.
You could easily fit 2 or 4 of these in the space of a normal rack space and the power consumption while maxing out these machines is only 35W (~0.3 Amps). Idle they use 19W (~0.2 Amps). Does anyone know a company that will collocate these that doesn't charge a fortune for their size (IE less than $35 /Mo)?

Could you mount a pair within a 1u? Did you check into datashack and their breadbaskets or midtower hosting?
I dont think it can be done in 1 U without some custom case. Even so, will need rails, nope, regular desktop cases take a lot of space and the power consumption will at best compensate that, so the price will be similar.

If you have the right chasis etc. we can do it for $35
FDC sells shelfs for miniITX.
We can do 0U shelf's as well, just not preferred.
You should build shuttle computers, and 4U space, with a shelf and plop a few on top of each other.
My shuttle which I used as a homeserver runs too hot.
What location are you looking at?
I know I saw it somewhere a rack setup that you can mount 4 Mac mini's in 1 1u bay
Right...
Aren't Mac Mini's $$$? Could build a decent mini-itx for much less. I've seen 1U's that do dual mini-itx boards.

So if you can get something in this form factor you could make it work.
it is designed for the mac mini but should be pretty easy to find a case in this type of size.
Have a chat with these guys. They can do you a cheap custom deal https://www.abstation.net/products_colocation.html
Beat aware though. there network aint the best.
and here is a case to use with it. http://www.directron.com/emc600s.html
You should contact with FDC Servers, I believe they colocate anything
They even colocate shoeboxe - oh wait they do colocate servers in shoe boxes.
4 servers for 50$ per 1u I like mine better.
You can also do it like this guy and make a rackmount out of lego. That is also how Edis hosts the Raspberry Pis in their datacenter btw
