Nginx and php issue

Okay first of all I feel like an idiot as for over 10 hours I've struggled with this now.

I want to have Nginx plus php working but it never turns out that way.
I want to have a user called www-data which can upload and delete in the folder /home/web/www-data - this I also want to make the public_html folder basically.

I have been able to get this far but then when accessing said files via web even with correct perms and owned by correct user it throws forbidden errors and 404 errors to files I know are there. It also when trying to access php files just downloads the php file instead of displaying it...

Please somebody, can you post a good step by step tutorial for ubuntu 14.10 64bit so I can get this fixed and sleep easy tonight...

Why don't you start off by posting your config..

chown -R www-data:www-data /home/web/www-data-folder

pastebin your nginx config, hopefully somene will help you on 404 forbidden etc

I've asked for a tutorial first of all. I've done a fresh install so it's easier for me to work from.

How was that a crappy attitude? it was a simple response to the questions being asked of me... There was no bad attitude of the such, you are taking a response completely out of context.

For fucks sake, why are you all being so fucking hostile... I asked for an easy to follow tutorial so I could get the basics out of the way because I've followed several thus far with no luck in getting this running... I really don't understand why you are bashing me for asking for help.

Followed that DigitalOcean tutorial step by step. It works but all PHP files are download as filename.php. Also I need the www-data user to be accessible and it currently gives an error connecting to the server, unsure why.

I appreciate that problem is I've already installed it all and configured it but something is wrong. I also have Ubuntu 14.10 LTS instead of CentOS.

Uncommenting that line throws an error of invalid host and then when modified it throws a duplicate entry.
