NameCheap Accidentally sends a Security Notification to Lots of customers.
At first I thought my account was compromised as I haven't logged into my namecheap account in the last 3 months.
What confused me was the IP address, since it was an internal IP.
So I talked to live chat and the person assured me my account was not compromised and that no changes were made. And that it was a glitch from updating their parking page, and that a lot of customers got it.
So...Namecheap updated their parking page and some how managed to send loads of people an email similar to what I got.
Here's the email

Yup, well probably in changing their parking page there was something updated on your domain records which caused the report and of course the internal IP address as it was them doing it.
A mistake, it happens.
Yeah. Just posting it here in case anyone here got the email and was wondering what had happened. Been using NameCheap for the last 4 years, best domain registrar I've come across so far in terms of support. The live chat is very helpful.
Yeah, had small panic attack earlier when I got a bunch of those emails...
Yeah,I received this mail today, and I contacted to the support staff, they said it was sent by mistake.
I did not receive a notification so it seems it was only for US/UK customer.
I got nothing but then again I use my own parking page.
I'm CN customer also received.
I didn't receive any email from namecheap.
Did not get that email.
Didn't get it either.
Didn't receive this (UK)
Think It was only sent if your domain was using their park page.
Yup.
Nope. I use Cloudflare on that domain, was not using their parking page.
