Help with dedicated ip
Hello,
I have added to one of my sites a dedicated ip so I can install SSL.
I cant get it working. I cant also access the site through 179.52.89.xx2/~website
What I have try:
I have changed the shared ip to dedicated ip (179.52.89.xx2) thru WHM to this account and checked everything and it shows in A record as it should be.
ifconfig | grep 179.52.89.xx2
inet addr:179.52.89.xx2 Bcast:179.52.89.xx2 Mask:255.255.255.255
root@bin12 [~]# /etc/init.d/ipaliases restart
root@bin12 [~]# /etc/init.d/network restart

Comments
have you tried eth0:0 as opposed to eth0? whm normally adds to eth0:0
Thank you for your reply. Can you please guide me how to do it please? Just please I don't want to brake the configuration that I have now because it was a long way till it worked
Can you not Google?
https://clients.beyondhosting.net/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=26
then
https://www.digicert.com/ssl-certificate-installation-apache-cpanel.htm
add the file to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ with necessary details copied from eth0?
file eth0:0
DEVICE=eth0:0
ONBOOT=yes
IPADDR=your ip
NETMASK=255.255.255.255
however, this is done automatically by whm & should not need manual intervention. did you alter the shared to dedicated IP via "ip functions -> change site's ip"?
