Virtualizor 2.6.2 Launched - noVNC in XenServer, Nested Virtualization

Hi,

The Virtualizor Team has released Virtualizor 2.6.2 which is our first version for this new year 2015.
This version has some cool new features and many bug fixes.

1) [Feature] We have completed the SolusVM WHMCS importer for Xen and KVM as well. Complete guide to import without any downtime :
http://www.virtualizor.com/wiki/SolusVM_Import_Guide

2) [Feature] Now users can change the Password of Windows VPS on XenServer.

3) [Feature] noVNC is now supported on XenServer as well.

4) [Feature] Virtualizor Team has now opened the beta testing of Thin LVM to make thin provisioning possible in KVM and Xen.

5) [Feature] Beta : Virtualizor now supports Nested Virtualization. Virtualizors installer now has the nested_virt=1 parameter to support this.

6) [Feature] We have started making changes to the Admin Theme. You will see a new look in the Admin Panel. More changes will come in the coming weeks.

7) [Task] In the last version we had introduced the Windows resetting of password. If the Windows Password was set for the OS Template, Virtualizor would reset the password even then. This is now fixed.

8) [Task] Virtio network interface is now supported. In previous versions the admin had to enable Virtio for the VPS and only then the Virtio network interface would be enabled. Now the admin can enable Virtio network interface for the VPS without enabling virtio for the VPS drive.

9) [Task] Virtualizor Service will check for the network before starting the service so that the port binds correctly.

10) [Task] Virtualizor installer will now check and Warn if there is an existing Virtualizor installation on the Node.

11) [Task] In OpenVZ Nodes on CentOS/RHEL, the regular kernel exclude has been added to yum.conf to prevent update of non-vzkernels which caused booting in the wrong kernel on node reboot.

12) [Bug Fix] If a VPS was created with ISO only Virtualizor would throw a error in resetting password. This is now fixed.

13) [Bug Fix] Thin LVM available space check fixed.

14) [Bug Fix] If the noVNC console was accessed by the enduser first (i.e. the Admin had never accessed the noVNC console) it would not start. This is fixed.

Virtualizor supports OpenVZ, Xen, XenServer and Linux-KVM on CentOS and Ubuntu and they all can be managed from the Master. We are adding more features and if you have any suggestions, do let us know. We hope you enjoy this version of Virtualizor.

Regards,
The Virtualizor Team

  • Out of curiosity do you guys have NAT support?

  • Virtualizor is getting better with every update :)

    Since quite a time :

Many of our customers use it on Hetzner.

  • I'm honestly thinking about switching from solousvm.

Any screenshot of the new admin theme?

  • How easy is it to make the move from SolusVM?

  • Can i ask why do you use IonCube? Leaving the source open to customers (maybe restrict the download to them) is often a good idea. I won't never buy any php script if i can't even check if coders used properly functions like unserialize() or eval() or used prepared statements for SQL, while attackers looking for exploits will be able to decode ioncube either way.

Here is one from my local comp :

Just as simple as setting up Virtualizor :

  • Another painless update.

Looking forward to seeing some of the features we have discussed.

Sounds like witchcraft.... ;- ) I'll give it a go, SolusVM is really just annoying me lately - might be nice to test out on my personal stuff, if all goes well move in business stuff too - thanks for the link.

Hello @virtualizor please tell me if there is any way to enable nested virt on current virtualizor installs? got a person who wants it setup like that(you know nested virt).
Excuse my grammar mistake if anyone saw it.

That's fantastic! Is a more modern UI on the list as well?

  • @virtualizor worked like a charm, got my SolusVM node moved over no reboots - works good, did have a database selection issue, but MySQL stopped a quick restart of Virtualizor got me back up and running, looks good so far!

I've always found this position a bit absurd. People get upset about not being able to view the source code for a web app, but then they'll happily run all kinds of software they've never inspected line-by-line on a desktop, tablet, etc . . . where really, really bad things can be done.

    I get it . . . but still . . .

Yes. We started working on the admin panel first. The end user interface will start soon.

Most security-sensitive applications on both server and desktop (MySQL, OpenSSH, Firefox) are trusted to be maintained for at least another five years by large organizations, with fast security patches. But the sheer diversity of web applications has put their development into small companies that can't always react quickly to security threats, and that may also disappear in a few months; of course you should never use unsupported software, but if there is simple bug then you can fix it if you have access to source, and also like @Giulio said to get idea of how much company cares about security from the programming style.

btw, when you are talking about virtualizor skins, you can fully modify it. You will see ours in few days.

Yep I'm glad this new theme didn't destroy custom theme functionality.

And why is that? I requested Xen-PV-on-HVM drivers to be implemented, and they did. Virtualizor actually comes through and listens to their clients very well.

At the moment, there is no panel on the market who offers this amount of customization, this level of support and this level of functionality.

Yes, you can actually. We use the c6-xen repo kernel. You just need their kernel and pass the nested virtualization flag to the kernel.

All I know as of now is that its going to be a Single Paged Interface.

  • Floris said: And why is that?

    Ask @wych ;)

We asked for some stuff regarding IP Pools and its back on the waiting list again, we also never heard back about a Proxmox Importer.

But I do agree with @drserver support is quick and fast to respond compared to the other panel dev's I have spoke with.

  • Its difficult to add all feature requests in the time frame requested. We have to prioritize and choose the most required feature. I guess this is a general issue in all software development.
