Setting up DHCP for OpenVZ CTs or other VEs

I'm trying to set up a node at home to share with a few friends. I installed OpenVZ, host gets its IP via DHCP fine, created bridge, created CT, created veth on CT, connected interfaces to bridge, enabled IP forwarding but CT veth can't get IP. The OpenVZ wiki is out of date and uses vzyum which is deprecated. I tried following this and now the host interface is broken.

After 12 hours of trying, it seems like a dead end. I guess I'm wondering if there's an easier way to set up a node at home with DHCP that I just haven't thought of. I don't think proxmox and or SolusVM support DHCP.
