Directadmin vs vestacp

Is anyone here using directadmin? How is it compared to vestacp?

  • directadmin is simple but have their disadvantage . Like it's not let m install WP plugins without Ftp .(this in shared host I used) .
VestaCP will give you all basic staff except it have no files manger which will be bit annoying specially for customers .

You can fix that by chowning the wordpress folder to the www-data user

VestaCP is generally more newbie friendly in my opinion. DirectAdmin is more established, better documented. The power user can do well with either or none.

  • +1 for directadmin from me,

Pretty neat & clean GUI with all necessary features :)

Sounds like the host wasn't configured properly. I used to run DirectAdmin with mod_ruid2, and php uploads (like Wordpress update) ran smoothly as the user.

  • +1 for VestaCP, it's free :D

  • Directadmin is a lot more stable than VestaCP, but of course it has its reasons.
