He can buy from Acer similar specs with touch screen for only $699.99. Can ask his friend or some parcel forwarding company for delivery to the land of Aussies.

    I am looking at getting a T440.

The only brands I trust for laptops are Lenovo, Asus and Toshiba. NEVER go HP, their build quality is horrid.

Acer are terrible.. I hate them.

Plus add the $60.65 AUD shipping, and the conversion for $700USD -> AUD and it's way over the $800 spent :(

Yeah, Lenovo and Asus are my choice :) Toshiba is plastic and yuck.

  • Why the f*** did you buy a laptop with windows, mate? What's wrong with using linux on your laptop?

My girlfriend recently got a Toshiba from greys online, I'm pretty impressed with it considering it's refurbished.

Interesting, but demo models don't appeal to me :/

    Best laptop for <$800 :)

  • @0xdragon yes but if you buy another model with similar specs which doesn't have windows included (i.e. comes with FreeDOS) it would be cheaper.

Factory refurbished isn't the same as demo :)

Why did you pick the E440?

Was there a better choice? :)

It was a good choice I thought because it's rugged.

I've done some shopping and can't find anything better :(

Just wondering what made you pick that model. I've been looking at the T440 and have gone to purchase it a few times but every time I get to the payment screen I have a feeling I'm making a mistake...

Thats the standard on 14" screens, why do you need more on such size?

Do you want a 1080p screen and then having to use binoculars?
