Hi guys:

This is problem I wanted to buy a dedi from Datashack ( exactly the dedi that were posted here opteron 2216 ) in order to sell some shared hosting I didn't buy because I asked them something about cost but they didn't answer.

So any of you know a company similar to Datashack that offer similar services and cost?

Or any other idea to offer shared hosting thst cost around 40 - 50 dollars.

Btw: for any of the guys that bought the opteron dedi and want to sell it just contact me with a pm.

Thank you guys.

I've been talking to the guy at serverdeals.org (Charles) for a little bit now. I can't comment on service yet but he has a rack in FDC. Seems like a cool guy.

  • @martip07: If you want US, its kinda hard. But if you want Europe, try http://kimsufi.co.uk

Joe's is nice but it's just so expensive compared to some of these deals coming out lately from good datacenters. Not expensive as in high price point, but expensive as in low hardware that barely scales with price on the rental side. Maybe I'm crazy though.

I don't think all their stuff is cheap...but I'm not sure tbh. Datashack are good for anything non-sales I believe.

  • Might I make a suggestion of going for a large KVM vps? I know BlueVM is offering their quarter servers.
    Buy half the server instead, $60; 4 x 2.5ghz (dedicated), 500gb hdd, 8gb ram, 10tb bandwidth.

  • @telephone i will check for kvm offers now, good idea.

  • @dominicl

sure volumedrive ..... xD hahahah good joke.

  • @Jack

    1. They are cheap ok but their cheap offers i am not sure if will be good for shared hosting.

    2. Read more pretty bad reviews than good reviews :(

  • @martip07 I use a VolumeDrive VPS to offer free shared hosting at http://hostingpad.tk. So far so good.

And if you want a datacenter similar to Datashack, go with either http://joesdatacenter.com (Mentioned above), or https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/ They are all in Oak Tower, Kansas (same building Datashack is in.

  • @Jack thanks for your personal experince.

@Jeffrey ya joes seems to be good.

Mr. @HalfEatenPie I wanted US anyway thank you

    Don't forget Hetzner.

  • You could always use DigiCube.

    http://www.digicube.fr/rapidserveurs

Its French, but since most people use Chrome now, it auto translated in your native (probably English) language.

actually why don't you just get the Xeon 5150 deal? it's almost the same price considering the specs..

  • @earl ya im thinking about that also the special offer that is a phenom II x4 865.

But those are good for shared hosting?

The Xeon 5150 has a higher passmark then the Opteron 2216 and if you prepay for 6 month it comes down to $49/month.. but I think I would rather pay the extra $10 for the Xeon 5420 since it's 8 cores.. I'm sure it's enough power for shared hosting..

you mean the 965.. I think I would still stick with intel.. it's the same price but you get 4 more cores!!

    xeon 5420

    phenom II x4 965

Also notice the Xeon 5420 is ECC ram compared to non-ECC for the Amd 965
