Full Disclosure: GreenValueHost is a company with mixed reviews and a mixed reputation. Reviews are available on this forum, WHT, and on Google. Many people have openly expressed their opinions about our services, both positive and negative. We work towards achieving a high level of customer satisfaction (and will respond to all complaints) however we cannot satisfy everyone. We will work to the best of our ability to make sure you are satisfied however it is your choice whether or not to choose us as your hosting provider, we will not feed you bullshit to choose us.

Although we are a good fit for most people and projects, we are not for everyone. We are a budget company, however give our very best efforts in satisfying everyone. The primary focus of our business is to provide a high value hosting service at the lowest prices possible while still maintaining an acceptable level of quality and service. We do not compete on quality, we compete on value and price. We back our promises with a 14 Day Money Back Guarantee, Anytime Money Back Warranty, 99.9% Uptime Guarantee, and Price Match Guarantee.

  • All plans come with instant activation (please use at least 4 characters for your hostname), SolusVM, rDNS, etc.

  • Is this the answer for the challenge to have a node in EU/NL?

That's a very nice :) I wish you had a lot of sales with it :)

  • Can't resist to buy...
I should lock me off LET or otherwise I'm broke at the end week e.e

  • @jnguyen is coming into IRC saying he has 256GB RAM nodes, but can't provide any free -m output. So be careful all you buyers

Ahh got to ask Jon or Ernie for the free -m output of one of their 256GB nodes. Makes sense

I'm tempted to get one of the Mega-RAM plans to see if the uptime is as bad as they say

    EDIT:
Ordered, but the instant activation isn't so instant :(

Maybe 5 seconds is a bit too much to expect

I've signed up to pretty much every host (and every location they offer) here and LEB that have plans for under $30/year, with over 90 unique providers. The worst of the bunch are the ones that are no longer functional, then next in the pecking order would be GVH, which are still operational but the uptime is horrible.

If you're after a cheap host there are better ones to choose from, there isn't a unique selling point here to make this host preferential.

It seems there's also a fixation with this host with a band of people who are DDOSing it and generally trying to trash its reputation even further. Unfortunate but nonetheless relevant.

Out of all the 90 or so VPS providers I use, this is the only one I won't be renewing a yearly payment for.

  • @ricardo May I have your service ID or registered client area email address so I may take a look please?

  • @jnguyen Im still waiting on that free -m

  • I had a feeling you'd ask that. no. I'll let the service expire when it's time.

  • @ricardo
    Why so negative?

I've only been with CVPS, so granted, I'm not quite sure how bad (or good) this will be, but if @jnguyen is offering to take a look, why not accept? You can't possibly lose anything - only win

  • Negative? It's an honest review based on a large sample of hosts, there's nothing underlying about it.

  • @trewq
I've been in the forums quite a lot, if that's what you mean by 'new'.

However, I am 'new' to GVH. I've read about their uptime, but then again, I've also read about how CVPS is terrible, and I think they're pretty good for what I paid.

Beg pardon, but how did you get CVPS out of that comment?

I meant if you are unhappy with the service they provide and have already decided not to renew why would you want them knowing your forum name?

  • @trewq

    What?
I'm not unhappy with anyone's (GVH or CVPS) service. Unless you are referring to someone else I think you misunderstood.

  • Just got the high-RAM special for $19/yr :)

    Per quarter?

  • Just wondering won't buying two of "NATIONWIDE ALL-PURPOSE SPECIAL " be cheaper and hence more worthwhile than a single "MEGA BUFFALO STORAGE SPECIAL" on a yearly basis :O

    "Instant activation" at its finest.

You'll probably find out they're all sold.

  • @0xdragon It's actually $19/quarterly. There was an issue with the configuration, I just changed it back. If you are unhappy with the change I can cancel and refund.

Mine was activated pretty much instantly @ATHK :)
