We'll have our own IP addresses.

Okay, so what's the upside of hosting in Switzerland at a premium as opposed to, say, Netherlands for half that?

  • Beat hosthatch , then yes :)

  • There's various, plus everybody has their own reasons to host in Switzerland.
One of my machines is in Switzerland as well.

Switzerland isn't in the EU. It have it's own laws.
In Switzerland for example it's allowed to stream a movie or download it for your personal usage.

That's only possible when I oversell the hostserver :-)

  • You missed an important option;

    Yes, but not with you.

Important if you're basing a business decision off this poll.

Awesome, then do it as everyone does. Is not like is something bad: more profit for you and better prices for your customers.

    Also, what @Nekki said.

Which indirectly answers my next question... this will be OpenVZ's, I take it? If you are not planning on overselling, then why not offer KVM's?

Yes, you're right. I also want to offer KVM.
    I'll reconsider...

How much should/can I oversell OpenVZ?

  • What is the difference between , and . ? :P

If you gotta ask, better cancel your idea to run this

  • If you do KVM, ignore DMCAs, provide proper IPv4/IPv6 and gbit network connection I would give it a try :)

    Are you from Switzerland?

Same offer as Kryutek was offering would be great (6.3Euros / quarter for a 512MB KVM)

IPv4/IPv6 and Gbit is no problem. I don't know yet what I'll do with DMCAs.

    Yes, I am.

Will see what I can do.

I think I will forward a DCMA like a normal abuse message.

It matters to me as a potential client!
That's always good sign that company mean it for real as opposition to those investing last $160 into one box to play CEO with advertising premium service in hope to survive next billing period.

    +1

Having an AS number is about the fastest way you can discern a low-end summer host from a host in it for the long run.

I think /48 will be possible.

    That's my plan.

3-4 CHF per month (3,19 USD-4,25 USD per month)

Is that inclusive or exclusive VAT?

  • rauppe31rauppe31 Member, Host Rep

RoestVrijStaal said: Is that inclusive or exclusive VAT?

Both. A company in Switzerland don't need to pay VAT if revenue is under 100'000 CHF per year.

  • GmbH, AG or registered sole trader?

  • rauppe31rauppe31 Member, Host Rep

    plueschopath said: registered sole trader?

It will be a registered sole trader.

  • if KVM then yes if OVZ than yes but too expensive

  • @rauppe31 said:

Please reconsider this. You can be held responsible with your personal assets, which can end really bad.

In the end, it's up to you. I just wanted to share my personal experience. It's better to wait until you have saved 20k to start a GmbH.

Yes, I know. I will start as sole trader and later I can upgrade to a GmbH.
