Looking for VPS in India
Hi there!
I am looking for a bunch VPS in India to host a few, lightweight gameservers (MTA:SA, for those who care)
Resource usage would be next to nothing.
A reseller account or some discounts on future purchases would be appreciated, as we will probably buy more over the time.
Leapswitch initially looked promising, but unfortunately they do not allow gameserver hosting.
If you know any providers please name them.
Thanks

No one in india would allow this. Bandwidth is very expensive
So? How's that related? You're given a certain bandwidth allowance per month by the provider (even if not much), they shouldn't care if you use up your bandwidth running a game server.
Leapswitch likely doesn't allow game servers not because of bandwidth, but either due to high load they can place on CPU/disk of the nodes, or due to fear that they can attract DDoS.
We disallowed them after facing many DDoS attacks earlier this year.
Yeah, DDoS on low bw is disastrous. We can take a few GB, up to 20, maybe 30 if at low traffic hours without infrastructure suffering big in Milano (well, the target node will be down or with huge packet loss since links are 1 gbps per node), but in India this is impossible on 100 mbps. In theory we allow gameservers, but we will terminate in case of DDoS.
Yeah, apart from regular DDoS attacks, which become more and more common whilst server gets more famous.
The MTA traffic is also kind of huge. I don't know how many players you are going to host it for, but my server used approximately 300GB per month. Doubt you can pull off something like that in any of VPS providers in India.
How many players are you squeezing into a VPS to achieve 300GB traffic?
32 would be the maximum. A server with constantly 20-30 players online has never used more than 120GB traffic here.
All in all it depends on the gamemodes that are distributed to the clients/players.
MTA:SA allows external resources (a.k.a. gamemodes) to be downloaded from a different webserver.
Traffic problem solved.
