When I ordered their VPS Classic, the VPS was set up instantly after I paid so I see no difference for their VPS Cloud.

  • My classic was setup instantly, and my cloud was ~ 20 minutes with Windows server 2008 R2.

  • Strange, Maybe I ordered when they're out of stock.

They sent me this when I opened a ticket about it

Your payment was successfully received and accepted. We are currently provisioning your VPS. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for you at this moment. You will receive an email notification as soon as your server has been delivered.

This sometimes happens, in this case business hours. Sometimes they even ask for further ID.

  • I'll most likely get it during their business hours then M-F

If it's Around like 70MB/s, It's fine and decent, Considering you're paying for unmetered @ 100Mbit and DDoS Protection and RAID 10 and pretty much SLA 99.99%

I was getting 10MB/s when I decided to stop using it. Call me DD whore... you are gonna get a shitty VPS... at least you cant say someone didn't warn ya. Also, it reboots few times a day.

Edit: I found the benchmark i posted in the ticket to OVH.

that 10MB/S is only a limit on VPS Classic, not VPS Cloud.

@nextmark the result I pasted was for Cloud 2 VPS.

It's great you are getting ok speeds. Personally I moved from OVH Cloud2 to Vultr and didn't look back once.

Some hosts from here provide better vps hosting than ovh.

I don't think Vultr doesn't have DDoS Mitigation, Last time I've checked that is...

  • n0myn0my Member

Nope, Vultr doesnt have any DDoS protection. You can use cloudflare or buy cheapest ovh vps and run reverse proxy.

Has anyone else experienced refusal from OVH? I've ordered a small VPS from Ovh.de with all of my registering data from Germany got turned down. TWICE:

We have received your payment for the order number XXXXX and we would
like to thank for choosing OVH services.

    >

Unfortunately, we only provide services to customers resident in the at
the moment. You can check the list of countries where we provide services
to know which subsidiary you have go to:

    >

    >

If the payment has been taken, you will need to ask us to credit it back
using the same method of payment that you used initially.

    >

In the case that there has been an error and you are based in the UK. we
can process your order with the following documentation:

    >

    • a copy of your ID (passport, driving licence)
    • a proof of address (utility bill)

First time I thought that it's my fault, but the second time... I have no clear explanation and I would love some feedback. Please don't point for support from OVH, you all know their (forum-only) support is Premium Shite.

If you are going to run DD tests, atleast run them with conv=fdatasync, otherwise you are testing the RAM/Cache. I don't recommend DD tests at all, but if you are going to run them, run them so they tests the disks.

Forum-only support is just for Kimsufi. Services sold under the OVH brand, including VPSes, get very good phone and email support.
