Hello everyone,

We run a KVM VPS service here in Australia. We are using Ceph and all-SSD to provide a true cloud service at LEB price. You can read more about why we think cloud storage is so great here: https://www.binarylane.com.au/cloud

We have a bespoke control panel with a wide variety of features, some of the more interesting ones are: - external firewall with web-interface - upload/download disk backups - variety of pre-built distributions or BYO ISO - load-balancer as-a-service - OpenStack Compute API support

The Test IP/100MB file is here: http://www.binarylanecustomer.com . We are in NextDC Brisbane; our transit is predominantly AAPT and Vocus.

In our last submission, the most popular request here on LEB was PayPal support. I'm happy to report we have finally added PayPal.

    @Oliver you have competition!

    Nice website and the control panel looks good too, the green "yes" ticks don't fit in with your flat design though..

    Ping is nice from Sydney

  • service has been quite stable over the past few months. works nicely for a DNS node.

    Would be nice to see Sub 512MB packages like 256MB.

    Edit: Just purchased one of these, and the network performance is terrible, ping is 40ms but most of the time the connection is dropped and when downloading a file from the server i max at about 2KB/s

    C:\Users\sumthin>ping 103.16.129.139 -n 10

    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
        Minimum = 49ms, Maximum = 52ms, Average = 50ms

    EDIT #2: Might've been my bad luck as ping has dropped to 38ms and Connection is fine, not so fun not being able to make a stable connection between yourself and a new VPS for the first 10 minutes.

    Are you routed through Telstra by any chance? We have an external monitoring server hosted in Sydney and were seeing about 40% packet loss on one of the Telstra Sydney router for a while this afternoon.

  • That ought to explain, service seems fine now though.

    Typical Telstra..

  • I really dislike how I cannot manually make it a 2 vCPU machine at the 512mb level - it forces a certain disk, RAM & transfer before you can get it. Can you give us an extra slider for that?

    I will likely eventually come to you guys for a machine to use as my main server - I like to keep my .au domain sites hosted locally if I can.
