Despite the fact that most of the people who post here are trolls, it's a helpful community overall. The good providers get a lot of good publicity, whereas the not so good ones get called out for all their shenanigans.
Before I found this site a few years ago, I was paying more for poorly managed servers and really had no clue that high quality low end boxes existed.

I love the freedom here.
Firstly, i haven't had any problems with the freedom of speech. For example on smaller local forums there are forum administration people considering themselves "the town's sheriff &+ gift of god" and shall delete everything if they feel like it, or if they are not in the mood for some third reason.
Then it's the freedom of information, regarding VPS offers and providers reputation. Therefore i am able to find good offers from good providers.
Discussion and inspiration.
It can be interesting to get opinions from people with different backgrounds and regional perspectives. Sometimes an interesting use case or request for vps comes up, or people discuss the equipment/software they use and I've found some good recs from LET threads.

I love that it puts pressure on providers to follow some standards of service because their client base can speak publicly about them.
The nice people on lowendtalk and there are a lot of them though they tend not to post as much as the abusive members, and the forum is very active and is actually the most active forum i have ever come across. I have made some friends here and they are very nice people.

I love to find good offers from providers and I love the tutorials and knowledge people post. I hate, that most people here are immature kids and that you can't open just one thread without feeding at least 5 trolls..
"I am looking for a storage VPS" -> "lol just ask NSA about your data"
But I guess the community can't really exist without those..
